Have you ever dreamed of having thermal vision like Predator from the movie? A thermal imaging camera TC004 by TopDon can give you this ability and more.

Infrared cameras now come in all forms and shapes. You can even get one as a small USB add-on for your phone. However, if you want all the advantages that a thermal imaging camera can offer, getting a standalone device is recommended.

Are you ready to see more than the human eye can? Then check out our thermal camera review to see whether you should get the TopDon TC004 next.

While the TC004 is a gadget with lots of practical uses, it’s not cheap, especially considering that you can get similar functionality from an add-on for your Android smartphone or iPhone.

If you’re unsure whether you need this gadget in your household, here are a few things that the IR camera such as TC004 can help you with:

  • Detecting Temperature Anomalies like Hot and Cold Spots. Thermal cameras can identify temperature variations, making them invaluable for safety and maintenance around the house. They are particularly useful in detecting overheating components or potential fire hazards.
  • Saving Energy. You can use a thermal camera to find places where a lot of heat or cool air is escaping, helping to save energy and money on bills.
  • Building Diagnostics. Thermal cameras can see if your buildings have problems like leaks or bad insulation.
  • Finding People. Thermal cameras are often used in search and rescue operations. They can help easier find people, especially in the dark. You can also use a thermal camera to check for intruders at night without alerting them to your presence.
  • Fixing Machines. Companies use them to see if machines might break soon so they can fix them before they do. You can also use a thermal camera for predictive maintenance of your car, electronics repair, and any HVAC-related issues.
  • Watching Animals. Scientists use thermal cameras to watch and learn about animals without disturbing them. I’m no scientist, but I enjoyed watching my neighbor’s cat on its late-night walks in the dark.
  • Checking Health. A thermal camera can measure your skin temperature and help determine if you have a fever or other signs of illness.

So aside from helping you see heat and cold, the TC004 can help you in many other spheres, including diagnostics, search, and even home security.

Design and Unpacking

The TC004 thermal imaging camera is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand. The blue trigger allows for capturing still photos or videos with a simple squeeze-and-release mechanism.

Additional features include a USB-C charging port, microSD card slot, LED lights for operation in low light conditions, and a threaded camera tripod mount for stability.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find while unboxing your TopDon TC004 handheld thermal camera:

  • TopDon TC004 infrared thermal imaging camera
  • Carrying case
  • USB-C charger and cable
  • MicroSD card
  • User manual and warranty card

The TopDon TC004 thermal imaging camera is crafted to fit snugly in your hand, allowing for a comfortable grip during use. The control pad is conveniently placed for your thumb to rest on, ensuring easy access and seamless operation.

At the top of the device, you’ll find the essential ports — a USB-C charging port and a slot for a microSD card. They’re discreetly tucked beneath a protective flap.

On the bottom of the handle, you’ll see a threaded camera tripod mount, which gives you an option for stable mounting, in case it’s not comfortable to hold the camera in hand during a certain operation.

Another addition to this thermal imaging camera I like is the incorporation of LED lights which aid in visibility when you have to use it in complete darkness. Though not excessively bright, they offer just enough illumination to navigate and capture clear thermal images in poor lighting conditions.

Zooming in on the controls, the central pad hosts a select button, conveniently positioned for effortless access, which makes for a user-friendly experience. The intuitive arrangement of controls ensures seamless operation, allowing you to capture the perfect thermal shot with ease.

Performance & Features

Even if you’ve never used a thermal camera before, the setup process and the user-friendly interface of the TopDon TC004 ensures you won’t have any problems operating the device.

The TopDon TC004 thermal imaging camera powers on with the TCView logo displayed.

The Settings menu is easily accessible from the main screen and you can see all the options available in the Menu interface.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the variety of the language options. I checked a variety of languages, and the interface translated seamlessly into all of them, even some of the more difficult ones for translation like Russian.

Navigating the camera’s interface is straightforward, with an easy-to-use trigger system. A simple squeeze captures a photo, while a prolonged hold initiates video recording. The trigger’s action is satisfying, complemented by other responsive UI buttons that contribute to an overall smooth user experience.

There are also plenty of customizable options which enhance the camera’s adaptability. You have the flexibility to modify color schemes for the thermal images and tailor the visuals to suit your preferences.

When delving into the camera’s performance, it offers an incredible insight into temperature variations. For instance, I was measuring the temperature of the different parts of my car wheels before and after driving, and you can see the red crosshairs showing the hottest spot, while the green identifies the coldest. The hottest element is also shown in white color.

We tried measuring the temperature of various items and mechanical parts inside and outside the house, and the TC004 captured the thermal dynamics accurately. The display showed the areas emitting heat correctly.

The TopDon TC004 camera is also capable of video recording in .h264 format, and can capture dynamic thermal shifts effectively. You can then play the videos on the TC004, or transfer them to your PC computer.

Connectivity-wise, the TC004 seamlessly integrates with your PC for comprehensive analysis. You can connect the camera to your computer and continue using it to see the results on your PC monitor.

To sum up, the TC004 impresses with its ability to produce high resolution JPG images, H264 videos, and proprietary .irg files – a diverse set of data formats available for your analysis. Additionally, the built-in torch and tripod port are there to enhance usability, especially in dimly lit environments. All of that makes the TC004 a versatile and practical tool (and not just an expensive toy) for a range of thermal imaging applications.

Software

The dedicated software for managing the TopDon TC004 thermal imaging camera is currently available exclusively for Windows users and is named TD View. During the installation process, you may encounter a startup display in Chinese, but as soon as you change it to English the interface will make sense.

The software’s functionality is straightforward and intuitive. Find a folder with your thermal images and open a gallery with all of your thermal captures.

TC View proved to have a limited set of functions, but if you only need to read and manipulate the unique .irg files generated by the TC004 thermal imaging camera, the app will do the job.

Battery Life

The TopDon TC004 thermal imaging camera comes with a built-in 5000 mAh lithium battery, ensuring extended usage without the constant need for recharging.

The 5000 mAh lithium battery is a high-capacity and a sizable battery that runs for up to 12 hours on a single charge. So you don’t have to worry about your device powering off in the middle of your running tasks.

Should You Buy the TopDon TC004 Thermal Imaging Camera?

If you’re in the market for a powerful thermal imaging tool, the TopDon TC004 thermal imaging camera should undoubtedly be on your radar. With its impressive temperature range and advanced features, this device stands as a compelling choice for both professional and amateur users.

The TC004 is suitable for both amateur and professional users, but if you feel the TC004 is lacking some functionality, check out the TopDon TC005 which also features a 2 megapixel visible light camera on top of all the features present in the TC004.

Cool camping gadgets can make your camping trip even more fun. We’ve made a list of the best smart camping gadgets you should take next time you venture into the great outdoors. These gadgets mix nature with smart stuff, making camping safer and much more comfortable. We tried to cover the best camping gadgets out there, from clever cooking gear and portable AC to a tiny cam to help you capture the best moments of the trip.

Outdoor camping with fire and tent

The Must-Have Smart Camping Gadgets For Your Next Adventure

Whether you’re a seasoned camper or just dipping your toes into outdoorsy activities, you probably already know that a comfortable camping trip needs more than just a water bottle and a sleeping bag.

At the very least, you want to bring some comfortable camping chairs to sit around the fire pit, a camping stove for cooking, and maybe even a coffee maker. Some other essentials include a headlamp, a first aid kit, a pocket knife, and a power bank to keep your cell phone alive.

Check out the following smart gadgets that will make your next camping trip even more fun.

1. FirePit+ by BioLite

BioLite firepit

Imagine the joy of gathering around a crackling campfire amid nature’s beauty. Don’t want to struggle with igniting the fire and dealing with its aftermath? Then, the BioLite FirePit+ is the must-have camping gadget for you!

BioLite, a brand focused on off-grid solutions, created a FirePit+ – a portable gadget to help you turn any place into a campfire. FirePit+ is a battery-powered grill/BBQ/fire pit device that offers a traditional campfire’s warmth, aroma, and ambiance without the usual hassles of fanning flames and smoke-filled faces.

portable fire pit

This portable fire pit has a built-in fan system that overcomes the typical firestarter challenges and helps to keep your campfire almost smokeless. You can use charcoal and wood; the fan will help you start the fire, so you don’t have to deal with hazardous fire-starting liquids or paper.

cooking food on fire pit

You can use the free BioLite app to control the fan and your fire, but that’s not the end. The 12,800mAh USB rechargeable power pack can also charge your devices if your phone’s battery is running low.

The FirePit+ is a perfect camping device that will help you cook your food comfortably during outdoor adventures and create an ideal atmosphere when the sun goes down. If you want something more portable and practical, check out the BioLite CampStove 2+ portable camping stove.

Price: from $224.98 for the FirePit+ only or $348.71 for the FirePit Essentials kit with a durable carrying bag, protective ground mat, and a stainless steel fire poker.

2. Tiny Repel Mosquito Repellent by FLEXTAIL Gear

mosquito repellant

Mosquitoes and horse flies can ruin any camping adventure. That’s why a mosquito repellent should be #1 on your outdoor gear list. But what if we told you that you can get a smart mosquito repellent gadget that also functions as a lantern and a power bank?

Flextail created Tiny Repel – a 3-in-1 solution to repel mosquitoes, as well as charge your gadgets and bring light into your campsite. It is designed with a rechargeable battery and accommodates two repellent mats for heightened mosquito protection. To activate the mats, you simply need to turn the gadget on. It takes about two minutes before you feel the differences and see the mosquitos disappear.

tiny repel device

Tiny Repel has a camping mode — where it forms a 10-foot safeguard around you by heating the repellant mats to 110℃, which can last for 10 hours, and an outdoor mode for broader area coverage, which lasts for about 7 hours on a full battery charge.

The basic kit comes with ten repellent mats, enough for five nights if you use two each night, but you can buy more separately on the website.

tiny repel light

The repellent works very well inside the tent or when there’s no strong wind outside. It’s not as effective with horseflies as with mosquitos, but it’ll make your life easier.

Tiny Repel has a built-in 4800mAh battery and a USB-C port, which allows you to charge your gadgets. With a double press on the button, you can activate the lantern function and use one of the four modes available: 50, 100, 200, and 400 lumens.

It’s fantastic that Flextail thought of many ways to place the Tiny Repel near your campsite. There’s a carabiner hook on top of the gadget to hang it near your hammock, a magnet on the bottom, and a little tripod that you can get as an add-on if you need to place it above the ground.

Price: from $49.99 on the FLEXTAIL Gear website and $46.98 on Amazon.

3. BLUETTI AC60 Portable Power Station

portable power station

Our next pick may seem to belong in a guide about off-grid living rather than camping gear, but we’re here to prove you wrong. A portable power station is a lifesaver on any camping trip, as it can make your stay much more comfortable and safe thanks to the ability to charge your gadgets and maintain your connection with the outside world.

The Bluetti AC60 is a perfect candidate for a power station to throw into your car before your next adventure.

front of portable power station

The AC60 model makes for an excellent companion on your adventurous escapades or remote camping trips due to its compact design, substantial power output, and the option to expand from 400Wh to a remarkable 2000Wh (with the addition of a second battery). On top of that, the AC60 is TP65 splashproof, which means it can withstand light rain, and you don’t have to worry about spilling liquids on it.

If you’re going on a prolonged camping trip, you can also bring a solar panel. The AC60 has a total solar input capacity of 200W and can be fully charged using solar energy in just a few hours.

The AC60 measures a modest 29 x 20.5 x 23.4cm and features a foldable handle, making it easy to pack and bring. It weighs about 18.9 lbs, which isn’t ultralight. You can easily carry it to and from your car, but probably not much further, especially if you bring more things on your trip. So it’s more suitable for car camping than wild backcountry adventures.

charging devices from power station

The station’s total capacity is 403Wh, which is enough to charge your “communications” gadgets like smartphones, tablets, and laptops multiple times. A 100W device would last over 3 hours on charge using one of the USB ports. However, an AC device would drain the battery much quicker, so if you’re planning to charge any appliances like a cooking stove or an espresso machine, it’s best to have a solar panel with you or be ready to charge the power station from your car battery.

Another awesome feature that will improve your camping experience is a large LED panel light at the back of the unit. It’s a practical solution for needing light on a camping trip, and it’s bright enough to light your campsite at night. Make sure to activate the DC output before turning on the light.

Price: $699 on the Bluetti website and on Amazon.

4. Max Pump 2 Pro Air Pump by FLEXTAIL Gear

flextail gear

Max Pump 2 Pro is another multi-tool by Flextail Gear that made it onto our list of the best smart camping gear to bring to your next adventure. It’s compact, lightweight, serves multiple purposes, and has a great battery life.

If you plan to spend more than one night outdoors, you must have strong lungs or get an outdoor air pump that can pump up any inflatable air product in a minute.

This tiny gadget weighs only 5.6ox (160g), so you can easily carry it in your pocket. The pump comes with several nozzles, making it a versatile air pump compatible with most brands. You can inflate your camping mats, air bed, inflatables, and even a pack raft.

air pump

You can also use this mighty gadget to deflate your air products, which is sometimes a more tedious process than inflating them. Mac Pump 2 Pro is also compatible with vacuum bags, which is another way to save space while camping or traveling.

The pump features a built-in rechargeable 3600mAh lithium battery charged via a USB-C cable. A single full charge empowers you to inflate and deflate a pack raft for up to 10 cycles. The IP55 water-resistant rating means you can use your pump in damp conditions without worrying about spilling liquid.

Aside from inflating and deflating, the Max Pump 2 Pro can be a source of light. Depending on your mode, you can get from 50 to 400 lumens out of it and up to 12 hours of light at the maximum brightness setting.

Finally, this multi-tool can be used as an emergency charger for your smartphone — a nifty feature for iPhone lovers.

Price: $42.99 on the FLEXTAIL Gear website and $46.98 on Amazon.

5. TREBLAB HD77 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Treblab portable speaker

Everything’s better with music, and camping is no exception. For those looking for an affordable portable Bluetooth speaker, we recommend looking at HD77 model by Treblab.

The HD77 is a small, well-built portable Bluetooth speaker, perfect for your next outdoor adventure. It’s compact and has a removable carrying strap and a carabiner clip, so you can easily attach the speaker to your bag and take it wherever you go.

bluetooth speaker portable

The design and build of this speaker will remind you of the JBL’s Flip series, such as the JBL Flip 5 and Flip 6. The HD77 is also rated IPX6 for water resistance, ensuring it can withstand direct contact with water for up to three minutes. This feature gives you peace of mind when you use it outdoors, even in wet conditions.

One of the best features of this speaker is the 360-degree design, which provides a wide and immersive soundstage. You can place it anywhere on your campsite, enjoy music around the campfire, or watch a movie with friends.

Aside from the lightweight design, build, and 360-degree music, the other important reason for getting this speaker would be its low price. Treblab specializes in budget solutions for music lovers, and the HD77 model is one of them.

charging ports of bluetooth speaker

So, are there any drawbacks? The HD77 has its limitations, of course. It lacks a thumpy low bass and doesn’t get very loud. But who wants a booming sound when enjoying nature and your surroundings?

Price: from $69.97 on Amazon.

6. POWERADD PRO PD 20 W Portable Charger

poweredd pro charging device

If a power station is too much for you, the next best alternative is to bring a portable charger or a power bank on your trip. The PowerAdd Pro Power Bank is a great choice if you’re looking for an affordable, fast-charging, 20,000mAh power source.

The PowerAdd Pro can fully charge most phones two to three times and features two fast charging ports. While it’s not the smallest power bank at 7.87 x 1.97 x 1.18 inches and a weight of 13 ounces, you can still easily carry it in your bag or pocket. It’s also not very slim, but with the bigger size comes more power.

size of portable power bank

The power bank comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable for convenient charging. With its 20W USB-C Power Delivery port and USB-A Quick Charge port, you can enjoy fast recharging for two devices at the same time.

The PowerAdd Pro is best suited for charging phones and tablets due to the power delivery capacity limited to 20W. However, the 20,000mAh capacity is more than sufficient for daily use.

power bank charging phone

The 20W USB-C power delivery port supports fast charging compatible with Android phones and iPhones with a USB-C lightning cable. So if your group of friends all have different types of phones, they can still use your PowerAdd power bank to top up their phones. The USB-A Quick Charge port is primarily designed for fast-charging Android phones but can also be used with non-quick charge devices.

Price: $29.99 on Amazon.

7. TREBLAB XR700 Wireless Sports Earbuds:

ear buds Treblab XR 700

If you’re camping in a big group, only some people’s musical tastes may align. But what if you can’t imagine a day without listening to your favorite tunes?

We recommend grabbing a pair of sports earbuds with you, like the Treblab XR700. While every earphone brand is now focused on creating the best true wireless earbuds packed with the latest technology and active noise cancelation, we recommend sticking with something simpler but more effective for camping.

girl wearing ear buds

The Treblab XR700 is a pair of sports headphones that stands out from the competition with its unique ear hook design. These headphones prioritize comfort and offer a superior fit to other athletic headphones in the same price range. You can move around, jump, and even run in them without worrying about losing your earbuds.

In terms of aesthetics, the XR700 has a sleek and minimalistic look, with a predominantly black color and subtle red highlights. Each earbud is slightly larger than usual and is connected to a black console with the Treblab name etched along its side.

closeup of earbuds

The controls are made as physical buttons, which is a plus for their reliability, and you don’t want to waste time fiddling with touch controls when you’re on a hike.

Despite their larger size, the XR700 earbuds remain lightweight, weighing just two ounces. The ear tips are angled and easy to insert into your ears. The cable connecting the earbuds is flattened to prevent tangling, making them easy to handle and store.

The XR700 comes with an IPX7 certification, meaning the earbuds are water-resistant and can withstand a couple of feet of submersion. While not recommended for complete water immersion, these headphones are shower-friendly.

With a maximum battery life of approximately nine hours, the XR700 offers above-average usage time for athletic earbuds. The slightly larger size and weight contribute to this extended battery life, making frequent recharging less necessary.

The ear-tips of the XR700 provide a layer of passive noise cancellation of around 11dB, but the noise isolation improves significantly when music is playing. Besides, you don’t want to cancel the outside noise when camping or hiking.

The XR700 may seem like an average pair of headphones with today’s technology. However, they’re the perfect pair of earphones for camping trips. The price tag of under $40 only adds to the headphones’ appeal.

Price: from 39.97 on Amazon.

8. Insta360 Go 3

insta360 camera

The final addition to our list is the latest tiny camera by Insta360 – the Go 3.

The upgraded 2.7K lens allows you to capture stunning, high-quality footage of your outdoor adventures, whether with friends or on your own. Thanks to a new magnet pendant accessory, you can use the Go 3 to film completely hands-free and in POV mode. The Google Home Mini smart speaker is a convenient tool that can help you control smart home devices via voice commands. However, if something goes wrong with your device, or you want to sell it and delete your data first, you should perform a factory reset.

In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to factory reset your Google Home Mini or Google Nest Mini.

Google home device next to Android phone

Why Should You Factory Reset Your Google Home?

A factory reset deletes all the data on your Google Home device, restoring it to default settings. If you’ve forgotten your password or your device is playing up, a factory reset can get it working correctly with minimal effort.

We also recommend performing a factory reset before selling or throwing out your Google Home Mini. As with other digital devices, your Google Home stores your personal information. A factory reset will remove this information and protect your privacy if it ends up in someone else’s hands.

Remember that after a factory reset, you’ll need to sign back into your Google account, connect your Google Home to your Wi-Fi network, and reconnect any Bluetooth devices you connected earlier.

How to Factory Reset Google Home Mini

To reset your Google Home Mini (1st gen):

  1. Turn your Home Mini upside-down and find the Factory Reset Button at the base of the power cord.
Factory reset button on Google home
  1. Press and hold the button for around 15 seconds. After 5 seconds, the device will begin its factory reset. After another 10 seconds, you’ll hear a sound to confirm that the factory reset is in progress.

How to Factory Reset Google Nest Mini

To reset your Google Nest Mini speaker (2nd gen):

  1. Find the microphone mute button on the side of your device. The lights on top should turn orange, indicating the microphone is off.

  1. Press and hold the button in the center of your Nest Mini, where the lights are.
Google home status lights
  1. After 5 seconds, the factory reset process will begin. After another 10 seconds, you’ll hear a confirmation chime indicating that the device will reboot.

Note: You can only reset Google Home devices via the factory reset button. It’s impossible to perform a reset through the Google Home app.

How to Factory Reset Other Google Home Devices

There are a handful of other Google Home speakers that you might want to reset. These include the Google Home Max, Google Nest Hub, Google Nest Audio, and Google Nest Hub Max.

To revert these devices to factory settings, you need to switch the microphone off, then press and hold the factory reset button for 15 seconds, as shown above. The Nest Hub is the only device that’s slightly different. To reset the Google Nest speakers, press and hold both volume buttons together for 10 seconds.

The factory reset button is found either on the back of the device or on top of the speaker where the LED lights are housed.

Smart Home, Happy Home

Smart home devices like Google Home and Amazon Alexa are becoming far more common and advanced. You can control other compatible devices using Google Assistant by connecting these Google Home gadgets to your Wi-Fi network.

Selfie sticks are mobile phone accessories that make smartphone photography and videography versatile. Here, we recommend the best selfie sticks that work with most Android phones out there.

What to Look For in an Android Selfie Stick

You’re scrolling through Instagram, envious of those epic selfies and group photos where everything looks perfect. You’re thinking, “I want to up my selfie game too!” Before you rush off to Amazon or your local gadget store, let’s chat about what you need to look for in a selfie stick—especially if you’re Team Android.

Does It Work with My Phone?

First things first, make sure the selfie stick and your Android phone are going to be besties. Even though many sticks say they work with iPhones and Androids, you want to avoid ending up with something that snubs your Samsung. Check that compatibility list!

Is It Easy to Use?

Remember when you had to stretch your arm to take a selfie awkwardly? If you get a Bluetooth selfie stick, those days are over. Look for one with a rechargeable battery, so you’re not hunting for those weird, tiny batteries at the worst moment.

Is It Portable?

You’ll want something that can stretch out to capture more of that excellent background. But you also need it to fold up enough to fit in your bag. Even better? Grab a 3 in 1 selfie stick that works as a selfie stick, a tripod, or a phone holder.

Don’t Skimp on Quality

Sure, you can find selfie sticks that are as cheap as chips. But you get what you pay for. Opt for one made of aluminum alloy; it’s lightweight but won’t snap in half when capturing that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Remember that you’re trusting an expensive smartphone with your stick!

The More, the Merrier

If you’re adventurous, you may be vlogging or own a GoPro. Find a stick that lets you mount different gadgets. Some come with nifty tripod legs or ball joints that angle the shot.

Let There Be Light!

We’re not all blessed with perfect selfie lighting wherever we go. Some selfie sticks have a built-in ring light or even a fill light. Imagine not having to find that sweet spot in the room with perfect lighting—you can bring it!

1. ATUMTEK Selfie Stick Tripod

Look no further if you’re searching for a selfie stick that’s practically the Swiss Army knife of photography. This baby is a 3-in-1 wonder—an extendable selfie stick, a tripod, and a Bluetooth remote control. All this is fused into one sleek, black design that gives off an air of premium quality.

This is not your run-of-the-mill plastic gadget; it’s crafted from aviation-grade aluminum alloy, making it light and sturdy. The extendable arm gives you the confidence to capture that daring angle without worrying about your phone taking a nosedive.

The Bluetooth remote? You can detach it for those group shots, but its battery life is impressive. One full charge lets you snap up to 15,000 photos. And with a range of 33 feet, you could pretty much conduct your photo shoot from across the room.

The 270-degree rotatable phone holder allows you to go either portrait or landscape. Plus, it fits devices up to 3.54 inches wide, making it compatible with Android phones and even some phablets.

For portability, you can fold it down to 7.7 inches, and it’s pocket-sized. But when you need that reach, it stretches up to 31.3 inches, like going from Peter Dinklage to Yao Ming in a heartbeat.

So, if you’re serious about stepping up your selfie game on Android, the ATUMTEK Selfie Stick Tripod is a must-have.

2. BZE 40-inch Extendable Selfie Stick

The BZE Selfie Stick is a behemoth that stretches out to a towering 40 inches but also knows when to keep it compact at just 8 inches. If you’re out to capture life’s moments in all their glory, this is your tool of choice. It’s a best-seller for a reason!

Its seamless blend of a selfie stick and tripod sets this apart. Yep, it’s another 3-in-1 deal, but the BZE takes versatility to a new level. One moment, you’re holding it; the next, it’s standing on its own, no hands needed. Ideal for both selfies and steady video capturing, it’s a YouTuber’s dream gadget.

The remote shutter is a nifty addition. With a range of up to 33 feet, you can be your own director, and this little remote can take over 1,000+ photos before calling it quits. Not as much as the ATUMTEK by far, but still more than enough for most people. It works with Android and iOS, making it a universal remote for nearly all smartphones. And if you’re into heavier photography gear, it even fits DSLR cameras (and SLRs if you still use them) thanks to its universal 1/4-inch screw.

As far as the build goes, it’s a blend of aluminum alloy and ABS plastic. It’s not quite the Iron Man suit of selfie sticks, but it’s sturdy and light at the same time. It weighs just 7 ounces, so you can easily chuck it into your bag and forget it’s even there—until you need it.

3. Vproof Monopod Selfie Stick

If you think “selfie stick” is synonymous with “clunky” or “hard to manage,” the Vproof Monopod Selfie Stick will change your tune. This Amazon’s Choice product has finesse that most monopods could only dream of. Reasonably priced, this little gadget punches well above its weight.

It’s quite the chameleon, from its “magic pipe” compactness to its sleek 26-inch extension. Just 6.5 inches when folded, you can easily tuck it away in your pocket and forget about it—until you stumble upon that perfect selfie backdrop. And don’t let its lightweight, 4.8-ounce build fool you; it’s constructed of aviation-grade aluminum alloy, which means it’s as sturdy as they come.

Battery life can be a downer on many selfie sticks, but not this one. Powered by a high-quality 65 mAh button battery, you get 20-25 hours of shooting time, equating to approximately 10,000 selfies. Yes, you read that right: 10,000 selfies. And if you’re not much of a shutterbug, a single battery will last you over a month on standby.

So, whether you’re an Instagram influencer, a selfie fan, or just someone who likes capturing the moment with zero fuss, the Vproof Monopod Selfie Stick is your lightweight, easy-to-use, and super versatile companion. Plus, given its replaceable battery and solid construction, it’s an investment that’ll stick around.

4. Bluehorn All in one Portable 40 Inch Aluminum Alloy Selfie Stick

At first glance, the Bluehorn All-in-One 40-inch Aluminum Alloy Selfie Stick seems like another addition to the ever-growing family of selfie sticks. However, look a little closer, and you’ll realize it’s a piece of tech that deserves a place in your photography arsenal. Priced competitively and praised in numerous reviews, it makes its mark effortlessly.

This isn’t just a selfie stick—it’s a chameleon of gadgetry. The most compelling feature is its 2-in-1 design, effortlessly transitioning between a selfie stick and a tripod. The Aluminum alloy construction ensures it won’t easily succumb to the elements or the wear and tear of your adventurous lifestyle. It’s essentially a Jack-of-all-trades but without sacrificing quality in any department.

Are you a fan of capturing that perfect group photo where everyone is in the frame? This device can extend up to 40 inches, allowing you to capture more than faces—think background landscapes and architectural landmarks. When you’re done, it retracts to a pocket-friendly 7.9 inches. No need for a separate bag; it will slide right into your pocket.

The Bluehorn features a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, eliminating the hassle of constantly swapping out dead batteries. Couple that with a wireless remote control shutter that works up to 33 feet away, and you have a device that’s not just smart but also energy-efficient. The stick will work with your handset whether you’re using an Android or an Apple iPhone.

5. UBeesize Selfie Stick Tripod

This is a selfie stick and a tripod. It solves the eternal dilemma of choosing between a hand-held device for those “caught in the moment” selfies and a stable tripod for more composed shots.

You can easily switch between the two modes to suit your needs, offering versatility that is indispensable in today’s fast-paced, multi-platform world.

The wireless remote shutter lets you snap photos or start recording videos up to 30 feet away. No more frantic dashes; pose and click.

Compatibility issues are virtually non-existent with this device. The universal phone holder accommodates a wide range of smartphones, and the 1/4-inch screw thread makes it compatible with most digital and action cameras. Whether you’re a Team iPhone or an Android lover, this tripod covers you.

The selfie stick tripod is constructed from heavy-duty aluminum, promising durability while remaining lightweight. With non-skid tripod feet and quick flip locks, it provides the stability you need to capture crystal-clear shots. Extend it to an astounding length of 62 inches to include everyone and everything in your frame.

When you purchase this product, you’re not just getting a selfie stick but investing in a complete photography kit. The tripod selfie stick, a universal phone holder, a GoPro adapter, and a Bluetooth remote are in the box.

The UBeesize Selfie Stick Tripod offers excellent value for money. With over 79,000 positive ratings on Amazon, the reviews speak for themselves. So make room in your gadget drawer for this all-in-one marvel, and start capturing memories like a pro.

If you don’t have a full-sized printing machine at home and often need to print a document on the go, check out the Newyes portable printer. This wireless printer is lightweight and small enough to fit in your bag. Not to mention it’s environmentally friendly, since it uses thermal paper instead of ink.

Follow our review of the Newyes portable wireless thermal printer to see if it suits your printing needs.

Newyes Portable Wireless Thermal A4 Printer: First Impressions & Specs

When I was a student, I remember my university always required hard copies of documents. Luckily, there was a print shop on campus where I could always pop in to print something.

Then I became a professional, and to my surprise many life spheres still required me to have printed versions of documents with me. Of course you can get your own full-sized machine to print things at home, but if like me you live in a small apartment, you value every extra bit of space and don’t want a massive printer to take it up.

One day, when I was looking for a neighbor with a printer to help me with my event tickets, they introduced me to the concept of a portable printer. Seeing how easy it is to use, I immediately wanted to get my hands on one of those. So here I am, reviewing one of the most useful gadgets I received recently – the Newyes portable thermal printer.

Before we continue with this review, here is the full list of specs of this printer.

  • Model: Newyes LD0801
  • Dimensions: 10.4 x 1.2 x 2.28 in (265 x 58 x 30.5 mm)
  • Weight: 16.8oz (475g)
  • Paper format: A4
  • Paper width: 210mm or 218mm
  • Printing Type: thermal paper
  • Resolution: 203DPI
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth
  • Charging port: USB type-C port
  • Input Voltage: DC 5V / 2A
  • Battery: 1200mAh lithium battery
  • Charging time: 75 min
  • Automatic shut down: after 30 minutes
  • Stand-by: about 30 days
  • Extra features: LED light, reset, on / off switch button
  • Color: white, black
  • Warranty: limited one year warranty
  • Price: $199 on the Newyes website

If you find yourself in need of hard copies of important documents while on the move, the Newyes portable wireless thermal printer will become your go-to gadget. Newyes calls it “the world’s smallest printer”, and with the weight of under 500g this seems plausible. This mini printer offers a handy solution for those moments when you need to quickly print an important document but don’t have access to an office setup.

Operating this printer is a breeze – a simple Bluetooth connection is all that’s required. Once connected, just fire up the app, choose the file you want to print, and send it over. Efficiency is at the forefront, and you can easily print multiple sheets by inserting new pages back to back.

The only limitation this printer has is that it can only print in black. So even if your original file is in color, the printed document will still come out in black and white. Other than that – you can print a variety of file types including Excel, Word, PDF, JPG, PNG, and web pages – and it only takes seconds.

The Newyes portable wireless printer combines convenience, portability, and efficiency – all the things I appreciate in a modern gadget.

Design and Unpacking

Let’s have a closer look at the design and build of this smart printer, as well as what you get included in the package when you purchase it.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find when unpacking your Newyes portable thermal printer:

  • The Newyes portable wireless thermal printer
  • Bracket
  • USB type-C cable
  • Storage/carrying pouch
  • 100pcs thermal printing paper
  • User manual

You can use the Newyes portable printer right out of the box, as you’re all set with essential accessories. Aside from the printer itself, the package includes a bracket which will make printing more than one page smoother, a convenient storage bag for carrying your printer with you, a USB-C cable for charging, and a supply of 100 pieces of thermal paper to get you started.

One important thing to remember is that this printer only works with thermal paper. While thermal paper is significantly more expensive than normal paper, this printer also uses inkless printing and works without a ribbon and toner. Since you don’t have to spend money on ink, carbon ribbons or toner cartridges, you ultimately end up saving money with thermal paper.

If you ever find yourself running low on paper, rest assured – replenishing your supplies is simple. Just grab some A4 thermal paper from a local printing store or Amazon, available in either individual sheets or convenient rolls.

The Newyes LD0801 is a pocket-sized printer that features straightforward design. For the purpose of this review, I had a printer in white color. The printer looks like a small white brick with just two pressable buttons on top – one for switching it on and off, and another for opening the printer’s cover. You’ll also see the paper entry slot on top of the printer.

On the side of the printer, you’ll find a single charging port.

The printer is made of plastic, but the build feels sturdy. I never have to worry about throwing it into my bag or damaging it when traveling. Besides, you can use a nice carrying pouch included in the package for protection.

Performance & Features

According to Newyes, the portable printer has a “handheld size and two times the weight of an iPhone”. This can give you an idea of how portable and convenient this little gadget is. In a month of testing, I used it at home, in a store, and even in a car while on the road.

Using the printer is unbelievably easy. Connect it to your mobile phone via Bluetooth, press the button to turn the printer on and put a sheet of thermal paper into the paper entry slot. Make sure to use thermal paper and not standard paper, and put it with the black marks facing down. Bear in mind that the thermal printer can only print in black and white and only on one (marked) side of the thermal paper sheet.

Then open the iPrint app on your smartphone. If you’re printing an A4 document, you can select one of two options – Photo Printing and Document Printing. Then choose the document from your phone’s files and print it.

The printer is reliable and in the time that I used it the Newyes LD0801 never let me down. The printing quality will surprise you, as it’s sometimes better than what you get from a full-sized printer. The printer supports printing in various formats, and you can use it to print documents from your smartphone (Android and iPhone), iPad, and Android tablet.

When fully charged, the printer can support up to 90 pieces of paper continuously, which is very impressive for a gadget of such a small size.

Software

The Newyes portable printer requires an iPrint app to operate. The app is available for free on iOS and Android. You’ll need to download the app on your device from the App Store or Google Play before you begin printing your documents.

The app has a simple and user-friendly design. You’ll need to pair your device with the printer on the first use via Bluetooth.

Depending on the type of document you want to print, you can choose different options from the app. There’s photo printing, document printing, web printing, and banner printing.

The app also has Materials and Template sections, where you can find various pictures and templates for printing to-do lists, post-its and holiday cards. You can also use the Newyes LD0801 as a label printer using these templates.

Battery Life

The Newyes portable wireless thermal printer is equipped with a decent 1200mAh lithium battery. This high-capacity battery allows you to print on the go without constantly worrying about running out of charge. When I received the printer, I charged it fully once, and it still hasn’t run out of battery after one month of use (I use it to print something almost every other day).

Charging this printer is quick and takes just over an hour to charge the printer from zero to full. The type-C charging cable facilitates a rapid charging experience. And if you run out of battery while on the go, you can quickly charge the printer from a portable power station or a power bank to continue printing.

The printer doesn’t support wireless charging, so I’d recommend always bringing the usb-c cable with you just in case.

Should You Buy the Newyes Portable Wireless Thermal Printer?

The Newyes portable thermal printer ensures high-quality wireless printing while on the go and easy operation. It’s not the most budget-friendly option, but this purchase will save you money and nerves in the long run thanks to its versatility and portable nature.

Personally, I can say that this printer made my life easier. So much that it’s probably my favorite smart gadget of the year. If you’re looking for a portable printer that won’t take any space in your house, I’d certainly recommend considering the Newyes LD0801 model.

Amazon Fire TV devices have Bluetooth support. You can hook the streaming device to Bluetooth headphones, AirPods, wireless keyboards, video game controllers, additional remote controls, etc.

This tutorial covers step-by-step instructions for connecting Bluetooth devices to Fire TV devices. You’ll also learn how to troubleshoot Bluetooth connectivity issues on your Fire TV.

Pair or Connect Bluetooth Devices to Fire TV

Follow the steps below to connect your Fire TV to a Bluetooth device.

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon on your Fire TV home screen and select Controllers & Bluetooth devices.
  1. Next, select Other Bluetooth Devices.
  1. Select Add Bluetooth Devices.
  1. Your Fire TV device will start searching for nearby Bluetooth devices. Turn on the Bluetooth device, put it in pairing mode, and wait for it to appear on the discovered devices list.
  1. Select your Bluetooth device to pair it with your Fire TV.

You should see a “Device Connected” success message in the bottom-right corner of your TV screen.

Note: Amazon warns that Bluetooth stereo headsets can affect your Fire TV’s internet connection on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. Switching your router’s band/channel to 5GHz can minimize Bluetooth interference on your network speed. Disconnect/unpair your Bluetooth headset from your Fire TV if the drop in connection speed persists.

Unpair Bluetooth Devices from Fire TV

Follow these steps to disconnect or unpair a Bluetooth device from your Fire TV.

  1. Open your Fire TV’s settings menu and head to Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Other Bluetooth Devices.
  1. Navigate to the Bluetooth device you want to unpair.
  1. Press the Menu button on your Fire TV Remote.
  1. Next, press the Select button on your remote to confirm the unpairing.

You should see a “Device Disconnected” notification in the bottom-right corner of your screen.

Bluetooth Device Not Connecting to Fire TV? 3 Ways to Fix

Try these troubleshooting recommendations if you have trouble connecting Bluetooth devices to your Fire TV.

1. Connect a Different Device

Try connecting a different device to your Fire TV if the issue persists. That’ll help you pinpoint the cause of the connection failure. If no Bluetooth device connects to your Fire TV, the streaming device is likely the problem. Rebooting your Fire TV or updating its software might resolve the Bluetooth connectivity issue.

If a specific Bluetooth device won’t pair to your Fire TV, reboot the device and try again. Also, ensure the device is in Bluetooth pairing mode, and its battery holds enough charge. We also recommend updating the Bluetooth device’s firmware or resetting it to factory settings—see its user manual for instructions.

2. Restart Your Amazon Fire TV

Head to Settings > My Fire TV and select Restart.

Alternatively, press and hold the Play/Pause and Select buttons on your Fire TV Remote for 3-5 seconds.

Release both buttons when you see a “Your Amazon Fire TV Is Powering Off” message on the screen. Try connecting the Bluetooth device to your Fire TV when the streaming device comes back on.

3. Update Your Fire TV

Updating your Fire TV software can resolve Bluetooth connectivity issues and improve the streaming device’s performance.

Connect your Fire TV to the internet, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About, and select Check for Updates or Install Updates.

Contact Amazon Device Support or reset your Fire TV if it won’t pair with Bluetooth devices after trying these fixes.

Use Bluetooth Accessories with Your Fire TV

Pairing and disconnecting Bluetooth devices and accessories to Fire TV is straightforward. Connect wireless controllers to play games or pair headphones for a private media streaming experience. Connecting your home theater via Bluetooth (instead of HDMI) also allows for a cable-free setup.

Whether you have a brand-new Samsung smart TV with a QLED display or an older Samsung TV model, a reboot is an easy fix that can help solve any glitches that you’re experiencing.

In this troubleshooting article, we’ll explain how to restart a Samsung TV, then we’ll provide a few extra device care tips to get it running better than ever.

How to Restart a Samsung TV

There are a few ways to restart Samsung TVs, including:

  • Press the power button on the Samsung TV remote control: Press the power button, then wait for the TV to turn off. Press the power button again to reboot it. If the TV isn’t responding, press and hold the power button for a few seconds. This will cause it to cold boot.
  • Press the power button on the Samsung TV: Find the external power button on the TV itself. It’s usually along the bezel, somewhere near the front right-hand corner of the screen. Once your TV turns off, wait a few seconds then turn it back on.
  • Unplug the power adapter: If your TV won’t reboot via the power button, try power cycling the device. Because most TVs enter standby mode when turned off, a soft reset can be more effective. Try unplugging the TV’s power cord. Press and hold the power button and wait for 30 seconds to discharge any residual electricity. Then, boot the TV back up again.

Note: If you’re having other issues, like a blurry or fuzzy TV screen, or a black screen, a simple restart might not solve the issue. Instead, you might have to do some more in-depth troubleshooting via Samsung’s Expert Settings menu.

How to Factory Reset Samsung TVs

If restarting your TV doesn’t fix the problem, you can try performing a hard reset. This will erase all of your smart TV data, delete anything you’ve installed in the Smart Hub, and revert the TV’s software and firmware to factory default settings. Here’s how to perform a factory reset:

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote.
  2. Choose the TV Settings menu (or press the Menu button).
  3. Select Support > Self Diagnosis (depending on the TV model, the following settings might also be found in System, General & Privacy, or General).
  4. Choose the Reset option, then enter the 4-digit PIN. The default PIN code is 0000.
  1. Choose Yes, then wait for the TV to reset to factory settings.

Note: Before resorting to a factory reset, you could try running a Self Diagnosis on your TV to determine what’s going wrong. To do so, press Settings, select Support, and press Self Diagnosis. You could also try performing a software update, or press reset Smart Hub to clear your TV app cache.

Contact Samsung Customer Support

If all else fails, try contacting Samsung’s Customer Support team. They might be able to help you run through the user manual and determine exactly what’s going wrong with your TV. If your TV is broken, they might be able to help you get a replacement on warranty.

E-bikes are truly the future of urban commuting. They’re fast, easy to use, and, unlike e-scooters or EUC, they still provide you with enough exercise to stay fit. But how to choose the right e-bike for you? Well, that depends entirely on your needs and experience.

Today we’ll be looking at the Star folding fat tire e-bike by Eskute. This bike is a perfect commuter, with a whopping 74 miles max range and thanks to the 20-inch fat tires, it’s suitable for riding on almost any type of road and in any season.

If you’re looking for a city commuter that can take you anywhere, while at the same time you can take it anywhere (Star is a folding bike after all), check out our review of the Eskute Star to see if this is the right e-bike for you.

Eskute Star Folding Fat Tire E-bike: First Impressions & Specs

When you first look at the Eskute Star electric bike and its specs, it promises a superior riding adventure with a blend of power and features. Let’s have a look at the full list of specifications before we move on.

  • Package dimensions: 46.8 x 17.7 x 31.1 (119 x 45 x 79 cm)
  • Total length: 66.1 in (168 cm)
  • Handlebar height: 48 in (122 cm)

  • Pedal assist: 5 assist levels

  • Warranty: two-year warranty
  • Color: black, matcha green
  • Price: from $1399 on the Eskute website on sale and $1299 on Amazon (US version), €1799 on the Eskute website (EU version).

For the purpose of this review, I had the EU version of the Eskute Star bike in black color. The following review will refer to that version of the bike.

At its core is a robust 250-watt Bafang hub motor, smoothly integrated into the rear wheel for efficient propulsion. Powering this bike is a 36V 25Ah battery, boasting a substantial total capacity of 900 watt-hours (36V x 25Ah).

However, such a big battery means a substantial increase in weight. This bike weighs 74 pounds (33.5 kg) and you’ll feel it every time you need to carry this bike over an obstacle or when you need to load and unload it from your car. It’s safe to say this is not a bike you hope to carry up and down the stairs.

As a 5’2″ girl, I can feel the weight of the bike every time I need to start pedalling. And without the pedal assistance, there would be no way for me to use this bike to go uphill. Luckily, with Eskute Star there’s no need for that.

One of the standout features of this bike is the torque sensor pedal assist system, which responds intelligently to your pedal force with the appropriate electric motor boost. Coupled with a Shimano 7-speed gear system, gear changes are seamless and precise and you can ride the bike uphill just as easily as you would on a flat road.

It’s clear that Eskute paid a lot of attention to rider comfort and control. The Eskute Star comes with front suspension and the 20″ x 4.0″ fat tires which offer impressive traction and stability across different riding conditions. Hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable and responsive stopping power.

Currently priced at $1,399.00, down from its regular $1,599.00, the Eskute Star seems like an attractive deal for someone looking to get an e-powered commuter.

In summary, there’s a lot to love about the Eskute Star e-bike, including the powerful motor, the battery capacity, torque sensor pedal assist, Shimano 7-speed gear system, front suspension, 20″ x 4.0″ fat tires, and hydraulic disc brakes, and of course the price. If you’re a cyclist looking for a high-performance versatile e-bike, the Star model is definitely worth considering.

That said, if you’re an MTB rider and want an electric mountain bike, Eskute Star won’t satisfy your needs, but we’ll touch on that later in this bike review.

Design and Unpacking

The Eskute Star electric bike merges impressive features with practical design. Straight out of the box, you’ll find your Eskute e-bike carefully packaged, with each part covered in protective foam, bubble wrap or cardboard sheets.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find when unpacking your Eskute Star folding e-bike:

  • ESKUTE Star Electric Bike
  • Battery Charger
  • Tool Kit

You’ll notice there’s no user manual included in the package contents. I guess Eskute made the choice to leave it out for environmental reasons. However, I advise downloading the PDF version of the user manual from the website before you assemble your bike. Otherwise, you may run into certain difficulties when putting the bike together.

After unboxing the Star e-bike, the first thing that grabbed my attention was the foldable frame, which adds convenience and portability. Crafted from lightweight yet robust 6061 aluminum, the frame effectively balances strength and weight.

Speaking of weight, with the massive battery inside, Eskute Star isn’t a lightweight bike. At 33.5 kilograms (74 pounds), the bike may be considered relatively heavy for some, particularly in terms of carrying and manoeuvring. Because of the weight, it’s definitely not a bike you’ll want to carry up and down the stairs. However, thanks to its foldable nature, the bike is quick and easy to collapse if you need to store it or put it in the trunk of your car.

When you unfold the bike, you’ll find quite a few things sitting on your handlebar. There’s the pedal assistance control with the on and off switch, the LCD display that you can use to check your current speed, pedal assistance level, mileage, and battery level, the Shimano gear shifter, a little bell to alert other people on the road, and the brakes.

While the LCD display is very useful when you’re riding in the dark, I have to admit that in bright light you’ll wish the display was LED and of better quality, as it’s hard to see the stats sometimes. Safety during night rides is prioritized with strategically placed reflectors as well. These elements maximize visibility without causing discomfort to other road users.

One big design point of the Eskute Star is comfort. You can see that this bike was designed with the rider’s comfort in mind. The step-through frame is one of the most comfortable frames I’ve ever tried and the shock-absorbing bike seat ensures you don’t feel in pain after riding for an extended period of time. The seat is made of shape memory material, which molds to your body contours, distributing weight evenly and reducing pressure points.

While comfort is important, personal preferences can vary, so I recommend trying out the seat for yourself before making the decision whether it’s suitable for you.

The Star model comes with hydraulic disc brakes which not only look cool but also ensure reliable and efficient stopping power, aiding both your safety and enjoyment. And of course the 20″ x 4.0″ fat tires, provided by Kenda, are the ultimate finish in the bike’s design. These tires offer exceptional grip and stability on various surfaces. Thanks to the added width, these tires provide a larger contact patch with the ground, which in turn enhances traction, grip, and results in your better control over the bike.

These massive tires are finished with mudguards – essential for any off-road riding – and a bike rack, suitable for carrying some extra weight. Overall, I can say that the Eskute Star e-bike brings together thoughtful design and quality components, and promises a satisfying and enjoyable riding journey. Now let’s see how this bike performs on the road.

Performance on the Road

The Eskute Star is a great commuter. This bike is built for extended journeys, and you won’t regret taking this bike on a long road trip. Thanks to the 90-degree upright riding position, you’re unlikely to feel any tension or pain when riding this bike. I felt the same level of comfort after an hour-long ride as I would after a short 10-minute trip on this bike.

Equipped with a potent 250W Bafang hub motor, the Eskute Star excels in performance, and will propel you through diverse landscapes. The top speed you can reach on this bike using pedal assistance is 15.5 mph in Europe and 22 mph in the US (in accordance with local laws and speed limits).

15.5 mph may not seem like much, but in my experience it’s the perfect speed to keep things under control and maintain your own safety as well as the safety of other people on the road.

The Bafang hub motor is known for its durability. During the month I spent testing the Eskute Star, I haven’t experienced any problems with its maintenance. And I’ve already gone over the 200 km mark. This powerful motor helps the Eskute Star generate a maximum torque of 65 Nm, as well as conquer inclines and challenging terrains.

I tested the Star e-bike on flat streets, on off-road muddy tracks, and mountain roads with serpentine or reverse curves. The e-bike handled the first two conditions very well, the fat tires can effortlessly run on sand and mud, without compromising the stability of the bike and your safety.

The bike also handled most mountain roads fine. However, if you continue going uphill while also using the maximum pedal assistance level (5), the bike will start acting funny after about 500 m of elevation gain. In my experience, the pedal assist simply stopped working after a while and I had to make a stop and allow it to cool down before I could continue riding.

Outside the mountain road and steep inclines, I barely ever need to use the max 5th level of pedal assist support. On a flat road, you’ll most likely be fine with level 1. When you get tired of riding, you can select a higher level to relax your legs and preserve energy.

At the core of the pedal assist system lies the torque sensor, a pivotal component. It measures your pedal force and communicates with the motor to tailor assistance to your exertion.

This torque sensor-driven pedal assist system can significantly improve your cycling experience. The motor engages as soon as you put pressure on the pedals. As a result, the pedal assist system propels you forward and makes your ride more relaxed and enjoyable.

The speed limit of 15.5 mph works on flat terrain, but there’s no speed limit when you’re going downhill. That’s when the hydraulic disc brakes come into play. They’re very responsive and provide equal stopping power with minimal effort. When riding your Eskute Star, you can be confident knowing that you can safely brake and stop at any point of your ride, no matter how fast you’re going.

The Shimano 7-speed chainstay works seamlessly and allows for easy shifting of the gears. The precision derailleur and rust-resistant KMC chain all contribute to a great riding experience across diverse terrains.

This bike doesn’t support Bluetooth connectivity. There’s no companion app or ability to control the bike using your smartphone. However, it also means you won’t have to download yet another app on your device.

Off-road Performance

While Eskute Star can go off-road and easily tackle unpaved surfaces like sand, dirt, mud, and snow, this is definitely not a gravel or a mountain bike. Even though there’s a suspension fork with a 50mm travel, and the bike features fat tires, as soon as it hits a rocky trail or a gravel road with some loose rocks, the tires start slipping, and you’ll feel losing control over your bike.

While on a flat road the Eskute Star is nothing but force and stability, on an uneven rocky trek it quickly turns into an uncontrollable bike you’ll be scared to ride. With that said, the Eskute Star was never intended as a mountain bike, and this experience doesn’t take away from how much fun this bike is as a commuter.

Battery Life

Powering the Eskute Star is a robust 36V, 25Ah 900Wh battery. This battery is cleverly placed into the bike’s central frame, which helps to maintain a sleek and efficient design. You can secure it in the frame or easily detach it for hassle-free recharging, thanks to the key-lock system.

This battery’s maximum range is marked at 74 miles or 100 km on a single charge. The actual range varies based on factors like terrain, rider weight, and the level of pedal assist used.

The battery takes about 7-8 hours to recharge from zero to full. Perfect to put it on an overnight charge. When on the road, you can also charge your e-bike using a portable power station.

Should You Buy the Eskute Star Folding Fat Tire Electric Bike?

Eskute Star is a high-quality fat tire e-bike that will definitely turn heads on the road (in a good sense). The folding capabilities as well as a massive battery make it a great travel companion for when you want to put the bike into your car trunk, drive outside the city and enjoy a peaceful ride in the countryside without breaking a sweat.

It’s not a mountain bike, but it’s a perfect city commuter. The only thing to complain about in this bike is its weight. If the Star model seems too heavy for you, check out other Eskute e-bike they have available – like the Netuno or Polluno models – both weighing around 25kg (56 lbs).

  • AC Power Cord
  • 12V car adaptor cable
  • A bag for storing accessories
  • User manual

Specifications and Overview

One of the recent additions to the power station market is the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000. If you have never heard of 70mai before, it’s a subsidiary company of Xiaomi. It’s worth noting that they are well-regarded for producing dash cams and their choice to produce power stations next might seem odd. However, the Tera 1000 is not only a multipurpose power station with tons of features, but it’s also one of the cheapest options in its class even when there are no discounts involved. That said, let’s take a closer look at 70mai Power Station Tera 1000.

With a battery capacity of 1000Wh and ten power outlets, Tera 1000 can power several appliances and devices at once. That means you can be as comfortable while camping or traveling in a remote area as if you were back home. But the versatility that 70mai Power Station offers is also handy at home when you need an alternative power source during a blackout.

Even if you drain it completely, you don’t need to worry about hours spent recharging it. Tera 1000 can fully recharge in just 2 hours. If you don’t have that time available, rest assured your power station will recharge to 80% of its full capacity in just around one hour.

The 70mai Power Station Tera 1000 is portable, handy, and fairly light for its battery capacity. Although 27.5Ib might sound like a lot, it is one of the lightest power stations in the 1000Wh capacity range and the ergonomic silicone handle ensures a comfortable and strong grip for easier handling.

Also, you can use the 70mai App to connect with the Tera remotely. Use this app to turn your portable power station on or off, manage various settings, check its battery status, and more.

Design and Build

70mai Tera 1000 has a somewhat retro look to it, but the design is very well thought for comfort and safety while handling it. The first thing that catches the eye is the big orange handle on the top.

It’s made of sturdy silicone, and it was designed for all hand types and sizes. Anyone can carry this power station with a little bit of effort put into it.

The Exterior Casing

The body of the Tera 1000 boasts a dual-layer plastic enclosure on the outside and a galvanized steel structure on the inside. That means that this power station is well protected from accidental drops or tumbles in your camper van while traveling. You also don’t have to worry about overheating since it has a cooling fan, located on the right side of the device, which will keep your power station cool.

After all, the Tera was designed as an essential device for outdoor adventures.

Also, it has large rectangular rubber stands on the bottom, so it can be safely placed on any surface without sliding off.

AC Outputs

The front of the 70mai Tera 1000 is where all the output sockets and ports are located. There are ten power outlets in total, and they provide users with a variety of connection options. All of them are controlled with a push button. The AC system consists of three sockets that support 1200W in continuous mode and 2400W in surge mode.

For the US market, the AC sockets accept three-prong plugs, while for the European market, there are two outlets that accept two-prong plugs (for this review, we’re using the European version). The sockets are well apart so devices with different plug footprints can be used simultaneously. This is probably why if you go with two-prong plugs, there’s room only for two of them.

Charging Ports

The low voltage section consists of seven ports that include one USB-A port and one USB-A QC port (for powering legacy devices), one Type-C 18W port (powers small devices such as smartphones), one Type-C 60W port (for charging laptops or tools), two 13.6V DC ports, and one car cigarette lighter charging port. To the right of the low voltage section is where you’ll find a 200W Anderson port that allows this unit to connect with a solar panel.

The Display

A bright LCD display is also placed at the front of the Tera 1000 unit, with the main power button.

The small LCD screen displays battery capacity in the center, while features, such as pairing, or fast charge status are represented by smaller icons at the top. Navigating the station’s menu is easy with the four push buttons just to the right of the screen. You can use them to find and activate this power station’s various features.

The Charging Port

At the back of the Tera 1000, there’s a charging port where the AC charging cord needs to be plugged. The elegant design of the built-in AC to DC adapter allows this cord to be very simple and lightweight. What’s even more important is that this design allows Tera 1000 to be charged fully in roughly 2 hours.

The Battery

70mai Power Station Tera 1000 uses lithium-ion batteries designed for smart car electronics and e-bikes. According to the manufacturer, these li-ion batteries have the best-in-class Battery Management System developed by Texas Instruments and are reliable and safe to use. This means that Tera 1000 has no problem with overcharging, over-discharging, or overheating. But it also means that the 70mai Power Station uses clean energy without carbon emissions.

The built-in 2-in-1 inverter allows for a bi-directional flow of electricity, resulting in efficient charging of the devices. It also helps the power station to remain cool while working. The heat dissipation is taken care of by a built-in aluminum heatsink. The fan is working not only fast but also silently. It won’t disturb your sleep if you leave the unit to charge your devices overnight. With that in mind, the Tera 1000 can power your CPAP machine for an entire night and more.

Smartphone Connectivity and App

The most interesting feature for regular users is the 70mai Power Station’s ability to connect to a smartphone through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). You can use this feature to control the Tera 1000 unit remotely via the app. The control range is around five meters. Even with the BLE enabled, there’s no noticeable drop in the unit’s energy.

The Mobile app is available for both iOS and Android devices and it has a simple and easy-to-use menu. But to install it, the phone needs to have both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled. However, you’ll need to create a 70mai account to pair their power station with the app. Once this is done, just launch the app on your phone and it will immediately display all the necessary information about the portable power station and its performance. The on-screen buttons allow direct control of the AC and DC sections. You can also use the app to set the AC fast charge mode, control the LED light, change display brightness, and more.

70mai Tera 1000 in Use

The power button needs to be pressed and held for around 3 seconds to turn on the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000. The screen lights up and immediately displays the battery capacity percentage. What else will be displayed on the screen depends on personal settings each user can modify. On each side of the LCD display, there are what looks like two smaller square screens. However, they won’t display anything. Instead, they serve as low-power flashlights.

Unfortunately, the light they are emitting is low and very dim. It’s just enough to let you see the control buttons in darkness, but not much more.

This portable power station can handle over 1000 charge cycles before the battery capacity reaches 70%. Tera 1000 supports the DC pass-through charging while itself is being charged. That means the DC section will remain powered and you can use it to charge your devices, while the Tera 1000 unit itself is being charged. But this doesn’t stand for the AC section. It will be turned off completely while you are charging the power station.

As for powering multiple appliances with the 10mai Tera 1000 AC outlets, the 1200W is a hard limit. If you plug in a device that pulls more, let’s say 1350W, the Tera 1000 unit will shut off in around 30 seconds. That means this power station is easily capable of powering up multiple devices simultaneously, as long as they remain within the 1200W range. And the appliances this portable station can power up are various. For example, it can power up a mini fridge in your caravan for around 14 hours depending on the fridge model. Or it can power a fan for around 20 hours, and a power-efficient TV for up to 8 hours. That means you never have to give up comfortable living, even when outdoors.

Charging the Tera 1000 with the 70mai Solar Panels

As Tera 1000 was designed for outdoor living, it’s no wonder 70mai also offers a portable monocrystalline solar panel used to charge the power station. In fact, unlike its competitors, Tera 1000 boasts an Andersen-type connector with a maximum input of 200W. That means you can connect this power station to a wide variety of solar panels. You are not limited to the one produced by 70mai.

Setting it up takes no more than a few seconds. All you have to do is unfold it, place it in the best possible location to capture the sunlight, and plug it into the power station. The 70mai Solar Panel has a peak power of 110W which is enough energy to efficiently charge smart devices. It even comes with 2 USB ports so you can connect mobile devices directly to the panel.

However, it’ll take more than 6 hours to fully charge it with a solar panel if the weather is perfect. Fortunately, the Tera supports two 70mai solar panels or any other 200W solar panel alternative.

Should You Buy the 70mai Tera 1000?

The 70mai Power Station Tera 1000 is undeniably a powerhouse when it comes to portable power solutions. Throughout our review, it demonstrated its ability to keep cameras, smartphones, laptops, power tools, and small house appliances charged.

Whether you’re an avid traveler, an outdoor enthusiast, or simply looking for a reliable backup power source, the 70mai Power Station Tera 1000 offers the ample capacity, intelligent features, peace of mind, and convenience you need in a compact package.

Looking for a pair of decent over-ear headphones with active noise cancellation that won’t break the bank? Check out the Treblab Z7 Pro. While Treblab isn’t a big name like Sony, Bose, or Anker’s Soundcore, they produce decent hardware with impressive specs. Especially considering the low price tag.

Z7 Pro is the company’s premium-grade hybrid active noise canceling headphones that feature comfy earpads, touch controls, and a long battery life. Follow our review of the Z7 Pro wireless headphones to see whether they’re worth your money.

Treblab Z7 Pro: First Impressions & Specs

When you first look at the Treblab Z7 Pro wireless headphones, they look like your typical over-the-ear headphones. The earpieces are large and cushioned, providing a comfy fit over your ears.

What stands out is the right earcup which houses both physical buttons and the touch controls. You can tap it to start or pause music and swipe to change the volume. I always feel like a DJ at my own party whenever I use the touch controls on this headset.

On paper, these headphones promise a great listening experience. They’re good at blocking background noises so that you can enjoy your music without any interruptions. The sound is balanced, which means it’s not too loud or too soft. It’s just right.

Regarding battery life, these headphones perform better than their counterparts from Sony or Bose. You can enjoy your music for up to 45 hours before needing a recharge. And when you do need to charge them up, it’s quick. In just 20 minutes, you get five more hours of music.

The Z7 Pro headphones can fold up, making them easy to carry around. You can toss them in your bag when you’re not using them or put them in a handy carrying case for transportation.

And the best part is that you can get this pair for less than $160. Overall, these headphones seem like a great choice, especially if you’re looking for a nice gift or want to treat yourself to some quality tunes.

Before we dive into the review, here’s the full list of specs of the Treblab Z7 Pro:

  • Dimensions: 3.14 x 7.87 x 6.50 in (79 x 200 x 165 mm)

  • Price: from $159.97 on the Treblab website and on Amazon.

Design and Unpacking

The TREBLAB Z7 Pro wireless headphones come with a design that’s familiar and comfortable. The headphones go over your ears, giving a cozy and secure fit. The earpieces have big, comfortable cushions with a thick layer of memory foam, suitable for prolonged listening sessions. At the same time, the headphones feel very light on your head.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find in the box when unpacking your Treblab Z7 Pro:

  • Treblab Z7 Pro headphones
  • Carrying case
  • USB-C charging cable
  • 3.5 mm audio cable
  • User’s manual & Treblab sticker

When you first unpack these headphones, you’ll notice a classic design. The outer part of the Z7 Pro earphones is neat and sleek. The headband has a stylish Treblab logo on top of it.

The right ear cup stands out with a touch-sensitive area, acting like a control hub for your music. Here, you can tap or swipe to manage playback, adjust volume, or skip tracks.

On the right side of the headphones, you’ll also find some physical buttons. There’s one for noise cancellation, power, and syncing with your devices via Bluetooth.

They’ve also thought about the times when you might need to plug in directly – there’s a 3.5mm auxiliary port right there. Plus, the right side also hosts the status LED, main microphone, and other key features of the Z7 Pro.

The left side keeps things simple. It has a charging LED and a USB-C charging port, making charging a breeze. TREBLAB skipped any fancy logos on the earpieces, keeping it minimal and clean.

What’s practical about these headphones is how they fold up. This makes them easy to store and carry around in the included hardshell case. You can fold the ear cups and spin them around so that you can lay them flat on a surface. That’s handy for when you want to keep them safe in their case or pop them in your bag.

Touch Controls

Now, let’s talk about the controls. The right earpiece is like a DJ booth for your music. You can double-tap to play or pause, and this works for answering or ending phone calls too. Swipe up or down to change the volume, or swipe back and forth to replay or skip tracks. Holding the touch panel can bring up voice assistants or reject incoming calls.

These controls are easy to use and never feel complicated. Treblab designed them well, ensuring you can use them without a hassle.

Still, the touch accuracy is not 100%. So if, like me, you’re not a fan of touch controls, you can resort to using the physical buttons on the right earcup to control your Z7 Pro. Alternatively, you can fire up the voice assistant and execute various commands through Google or Siri. However, that’s also a hit or miss; you may have to repeat the command a few times before the headphones execute it.

Performance & Features

The Z7 Pro wireless headphones give you much to unpack regarding performance and features.

Auto-Play for Effortless Music Experience

The Z7 Pro has an auto-play feature that kicks in when you put them on. When they detect you wearing them, your music or podcast starts playing, offering a seamless and convenient audio experience. I love this feature, as you don’t have to fiddle with the buttons or controls if you need to take the headphones off and speak to someone quickly. The music turns off automatically, detecting that you aren’t wearing the headphones anymore.

Ambient Sound Mode

While the Z7 Pro is capable of impressive ANC, it also offers a transparency mode (called Ambient Mode here) that allows you to hear the ambient sound around you. This mode allows external sounds to be heard while still enjoying your audio.

One cool thing TREBLAB included here is using a specific gesture to turn on Ambient sound. When someone approaches you, and you want to hear what they’re saying, you don’t have to take your headphones off anymore. Simply cover the right earcup with your hand, and this will lower the music volume and turn on the Ambient mode.

Call Quality

One significant aspect of any pair of headphones is call quality. The Z7 Pro is decent in this department, ensuring crystal-clear calls. The built-in microphones and noise cancellation technology work together to reduce ambient noise, making your voice crisp and distinct during calls.

Multipoint Technology for Enhanced Connectivity

The Z7 Pro headphones utilize multipoint technology, enabling you to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. This means you can switch between your smartphone and laptop seamlessly without the need to disconnect and reconnect. In my experience, this feature can improve your productivity greatly.

No Dedicated App

One thing that may disappoint you is the lack of a dedicated app for Android or iPhone that allows you to control and use the equalizer to customize your sound. On the other hand, if you don’t want to download “yet another app” onto your smartphone, this may be seen as a plus.

Sound Quality

The Treblab Z7 Pro wireless headphones boast a dynamic sound profile characterized by a bass-forward signature, a result of the powerful pairing of a 40mm driver and Qualcomm aptX HD chipset. This combination creates a vibrant, bass-heavy soundstage that complements a wide array of music genres. The headphones deliver punchy, warm lows and crisp mids, showcasing the headphones’ ability to handle varied musical preferences.

The headphones truly shine in the realm of bass-heavy tunes. They handle the guitar riffs and screeching vocals equally well, so you can enjoy being fully immersed in your music.

However, when you switch to jazz records, the Z7 Pro headphones reveal a minor drawback. While the mid-range and vocals are notable, the high-end lacks the refinement found in more finely-tuned headphones from brands like Bose or Sony. While these headphones are bass-heavy, they’re certainly missing some clean treble as well.

Another option I found lacking is using the aux cable, as it can compromise the sound quality and volume. If you want to experience the full potential of the Z7 Pro headphones, I recommend sticking to the wireless connectivity.

Overall, the Treblab Z7 Pro headphones offer a decent sound experience, especially for those inclined toward bass-heavy music.

Battery Life

When compared to wireless earbuds, wireless headphones have two main advantages: superior sound quality and longer battery life. These are both true for the Z7 Pro.

These headphones have a powerful, quick charge feature, meaning you don’t have to spend hours waiting for your headset to recharge. When fully charged, the Z7 Pro can deliver up to 30 hours of playtime with ANC activated. You can extend this time by 45 hours by turning off the ANC feature.

Thanks to the fast charging, when the battery hits zero, you can get an extra 5 hours of use with just a quick charge of 20 minutes.

Should You Buy the Treblab Z7 Pro Hybrid ANC Headphones?

The Treblab Z7 Pro is a solid choice for anyone looking for a pair of headphones that offers high-end features without asking you to overpay for them. They come with a long battery life, an array of useful automation features, impressive ANC, and deliver a pretty great sound.

On a personal note, if you have a smaller head and often struggle to pick the right headband, you’re more likely to find the Z7 Pro comfortable and suitable for you.

Are you looking for an automatic cleaning solution for your house that won’t break the bank? With the great variety of budget-friendly robot vacuums on the market, choosing one that suits your needs may be difficult.

If you’re on a budget and want to try a robovac, one option to look at is the Teendow G20 robot vacuum and mop combo. It may not be the best cleaning robot out there, but it’s a great all-in-one solution for someone looking for a blend of functionality and budget-friendliness.

Follow our review of the Teendow G20 robot vacuum and mop to see if this is the right smart home device for you.

Teendow G20 Robot Vacuum and Mop: First Impressions & Specs

The Teendow G20 robovac is a cleaning gadget that seemingly has it all: the vacuum and mop combo, 1400Pa strong suction power, remote control, app control, and smart voice control (ability to work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant).

Compared to high-end vacuums, the 1400Pa suction power doesn’t seem like a lot (we’ve previously tested robovacs that featured the 4000Pa max suction power). Still, it’s enough to keep your hard floors and thin carpets clean if you vacuum regularly. The G20 may struggle if you have a lot of pet hair. In this case, I recommend getting a more specific model like the Trifo Ollie Pet edition robovac.

Many premium-grade robot vacuums often feature a separate base and a self-emptying system, allowing complete hands-free cleaning. However, the massive robot vacuum base may be a problem if you live in a smaller space. So unless you absolutely despise emptying the dustbin yourself, I’d advise against self-emptying robot vacuums.

Overall, if you’re looking for a solid robot vacuum that won’t take up too much space in your house and still offer efficient cleaning, the Teendow G20 is a good choice.

Before we dive into the review of this robot vacuum cleaner, here’s the full list of specs of the Teendow G20:

  • Diameter: 11.8 in (300 mm)
  • Height: 2.9 in (74 mm)
  • Weight: 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg)
  • Suction power: 1400Pa
  • Rated power: 28W
  • Operating voltage: 14.4 V

Design and Unpacking

The Teendow G20 robot vacuum and mop has a thoughtful and practical design. Although it’s nothing new if you’ve seen or used a robot vacuum before. The G20 has the same shape and overall look as Roborock, Roomba, Ecovacs, and other famous robot vacuum brands. However, it doesn’t have the raised circle with a LiDAR system like many robot vacuums, which allows the G20 to be slimmer than its counterparts and have more room to fit in tight spaces and under the furniture when cleaning.

Upon unboxing, you’ll find the device securely packed in a protective cardboard crate and all its accessories.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find in the box when unpacking your G20:

  • Teendow G20 robot vacuum
  • Charging base
  • Charging adapter
  • Remote control with 2AAA batteries
  • Water tank & mop accessories
  • Two side brushes
  • Four water tank filter cottons
  • Cleaning brush
  • User manual & warranty card

I enjoyed unpacking the G20 and finding a few extras in the box, like the cleaning brush and the filter cottons for the water tank. Adding the batteries for the remote control is also a nice touch. These days, you often get a product without batteries, an SD card, or something else that prevents you from using the item straight out of the box. This is not the case with the G20.

The robot vacuum is simple and compact. The dimensions measure 11.8″ x 11.8″ x 2.87″. Thanks to its compact size, the robot vacuum can fit into tight spaces and navigate through various areas of your house.

On the top panel of the vacuum, you’ll find intuitive buttons for power and recharge. When you open the top lid, you’ll see the small dustbin and filter inside the vacuum. The dust box has only a 200 ml capacity, which is a little. This means you’ll have to empty it often, especially when you need the G20 to pick up big messes.

The water tank is a little bigger — 230 ml — and is easy to install.

On the bottom of the robovac, two drive wheels are on each side, and a universal wheel is in front. Before the first use, you must install the two side brushes on your G20 robot vacuum. Underneath, you’ll find the mop pad, which can be easily detached from the mopboard.

Around the device, you’ll find the anti-collision sensors strategically placed around its body. These sensors intelligently detect obstacles, minimizing collisions and ensuring a smoother cleaning experience. Additionally, three anti-drop sensors are positioned at the bottom to prevent accidental falls, enhancing safety during operation. That way, you don’t have to worry about using the G20 near staircases or elevated surfaces.

Overall, the Teendow G20 Robot Vacuum and Mop is packed with user-friendly features in its design. The top lid provides access to the dust box and filter, making maintenance and cleaning hassle-free. The water tank at the back is easily detachable, allowing for convenient refilling and efficient mopping. The device comes with a mop pad that can be detached from the mopboard, making it simple for you to clean and reinstall it back.

Performance & Features

The Teendow G20 is a decent cleaning solution for keeping your house dust-free and with light maintenance. At the same time, it may not be suitable for hardcore cleaning and cleaning big messes like lots of pet hair or cleaning different surfaces.

During testing, the robovac did fine with cleaning hard floors but struggled cleaning a thick rug and picking up larger debris off the floor.

The vacuum and mop combo works well and can even clean up some spills and fresh stains. However, if it’s a stain left on the floor for a while, the G20 will likely struggle to clean that as well.

One notable feature of the Teendow G20 is its quietness compared to other vacuums. It’s designed to operate with minimal noise levels, which is excellent if you have a baby in the house or don’t want to scare or disturb your pets. The quiet mode ensures a discreet cleaning process, making it suitable for use late at night or when focusing on work or relaxation.

The cleaning time is about 1.5 hours on a single charge. However, when the battery drops to 20%, the robovac will automatically go to the base station and start recharging.

Due to the dustbin being relatively small, you may have to empty it several times during a heavy-duty cleaning session.

Despite the G20’s efficient obstacle detection system that prevents collisions with walls, it’ll occasionally hit a chair leg or go over a wire left on the floor. This can mean the sensors struggle to identify smaller obstructions around the house. I live in a two-storey apartment and always test the sensors on the bottom of the vacuum, which are responsible for avoiding falls. These sensors on G20 work better, so you don’t have to worry about damaging your robovac.

Software and Remote Control

The Teendow Robot Vacuum G20 offers three different control options: via the mobile app for those who prefer controlling the robovac from their smartphone, remote control for the fans of physical buttons, and voice assistants for those who prefer the hands-free experience.

The G20 has smart Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to remotely control and monitor the robot vacuum. Simply connect the vacuum to your home Wi-Fi network and sign up for a Teendow account. Then, you can use a dedicated Teendow mobile app to start, pause, schedule, and customize cleaning sessions from your smartphone or tablet.

The companion mobile app is simple and intuitive to use. It offers a range of features, including setting cleaning schedules, selecting various cleaning modes, and checking the battery status. The app’s intuitive design ensures that even those new to smart home technology can easily navigate and use it.

In addition to app-based control, the Teendow G20 has a remote control. This remote, powered by two AAA batteries, offers an alternative way of directing the robot vacuum. It’s a convenient option for those who prefer a physical remote for controlling the device.

This blend of Wi-Fi connected capabilities, and a dedicated remote control makes managing the Teendow Robot Vacuum G20 a straightforward and adaptable experience, no matter your preferences and lifestyle.

Battery Life

The G20 robot cleaner is equipped with a solid 2500mAh rechargeable lithium battery. The battery capacity is enough to keep your home spotless even with daily usage.

The charger and the charging base ensure that your robovac recharges automatically whenever its battery level is lower than 20%. According to our testing results, the G20 can run for up to 1.5 hours on a single charge, which is enough for the vacuum to clean, if not your entire house than most of it.

Should You Buy the Teendow G20 Robot Vacuum and Mop?

If you’re seeking a reliable, budget-friendly cleaning solution that’s efficient and versatile, the Teendow G20 Robot Vacuum and Mop is a decent choice. The 2-in-1 vacuuming and mopping functionality, long battery life, and simple control options’ll give you a taste of smart home automation and keep your house dust-free.

That said, if you’re looking for a deep-cleaning solution or for a pro-level robot vacuum, the G20 won’t suffice. It lacks many premium features that you’ll find on more expensive high-grade robovac options.

Even though earbud manufacturers focus on improving the ANC technology, sometimes you need the opposite — to minimize the noise cancellation in favor of being aware of your surroundings.

OneOdio’s recent entry, the OpenRock Pro, is their first open-ear air conduction earbuds to help you achieve both. You can enjoy your music while also hearing the world around you.

But can these earphones provide a sound quality on par with popular modern earbuds? Follow our OneOdio OpenRock Pro review to find out.

Air Conduction vs. Bone Conduction

Many open-ear design headsets feature bone conduction technology, so let’s quickly look at how this differs from traditional air conduction.

Air conduction earbuds and bone conduction earbuds differ in how they transmit sound to your ears.

Air conduction earbuds are the traditional type that most people are familiar with. They produce sound waves that travel through the air and enter your ear canal. These earbuds sit inside or at the entrance of your ear and direct sound toward your eardrum. They create an enclosed listening environment, providing direct sound to your inner ear. Most common headphones and earphones, including the OneOdio OpenRock Pro wireless earbuds, fall under this category.

Bone conduction headphones work differently. They use bone conduction technology instead of sending sound through the air and into your ear canal. These earbuds rest on the bones near your ear, typically on your cheekbones. They generate vibrations that travel through your bones to the cochlea, bypassing the outer and middle ear. This is particularly useful for people with outer or middle-ear hearing impairment. Bone conduction allows you to perceive sound while keeping your ears open, which can benefit situational awareness, like during outdoor activities.

To sum it up, air conduction earbuds deliver sound through the air into your ear canal, while bone conduction earbuds use vibrations through bones to transmit sound directly to your inner ear, bypassing the ear canal.

OneOdio OpenRock Pro: First Impressions & Specs

The OpenRock Pro earbuds rely on air conduction technology. However, they feature an open-ear design simultaneously, making them an attractive choice for sports and other activities that require a lot of movement and being aware of your surroundings.

Instead of utilizing bone conduction technology, which can often compromise sound quality, the OpenRock Pro uses a sizable driver to direct sound towards the inner ear, which helps to deliver a unique auditory experience.

While the sound isn’t entirely sealed within the ears, the design aims to focus sound towards the ear, mitigating sound dissipation, especially at higher volumes. The OpenRock TubeBass technology enhances bass frequencies, providing a rich audio experience. Plus, the support for aptX codec ensures a high-quality audio transmission.

In terms of practicality, the OneOdio OpenRock Pro is an interesting alternative to conventional in-ear earbuds. It balances comfort and audio quality and caters to those seeking a longer, more comfortable listening experience.

Here’s a complete list of specs of the OneOdio OpenRock Pro:

  • Dimensions:
  • Weight: 0.2 lbs (90 g) for the set
  • Microphones: CVC 8.0 dual noise-canceling microphone
  • Supported codecs: aptX, AAC, SBC
  • Driver size: 16.2 mm dynamic
  • Bluetooth: 5.2
  • Water resistance: IPX5
  • Compatibility: A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, HSP
  • Noise cancellation: yes
  • Battery: 19 hours (headset only), 46 hours (charging case)
  • Case battery: 400mAh
  • Charging Port: Type-C
  • Color: black, silver, khaki
  • Price: $129.99 on the OneOdio website and on Amazon.

Design and Unpacking

The design of the OpenRock Pro earbuds deviates from traditional TWS earbuds. While resembling bone conduction headphones, these earbuds are larger and sit securely on the auricle, which ensures a snug fit. The flexible neck and adjustable ear hooks provide a customized and comfortable fit, making them ideal for extended use.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find in the box while unpacking your OpenRock Pro:

  • OneOdio OpenRock Pro earbuds
  • Charging case
  • USB-A to USB-C charging cable
  • User manual

When you first open the OneOdio OpenRock Pro earbuds box, you’ll notice how neat and organized everything is. The earbuds have a modern, comfy design. They’re not heavy, with only 0.2 lbs weight for the whole set, and they look fantastic with a smooth, non-shiny finish.

I tested the black earbuds. The silver parts and the logo also add a nice touch to them.

The charging case is also black with a matte finish. There’s no display, and the style is rather minimalistic, but I can appreciate that.

The charging case may seem too chunky for some, so you can buy a silicone case for carrying your earbuds separately or in a bundle when purchasing your OpenRock Pro. The silicone case is stylish and smooth, but the downside is that your earbuds won’t recharge when you carry them like that.

Another thing I appreciate about the earbuds’ design is using a physical button. Usually, the touch control annoys me, as it’s almost always laggy, and more often than not, it won’t react to my gestures from the first attempt. OpenRock Pro features a multifunctional physical button that you can use for different things like changing the volume, switching songs, and answering calls.

Getting the earbuds to connect to your phone (Android or Apple iPhone) or computer is easy, too thanks to the Bluetooth 5.2 support, which provides a strong and stable connection to your device.

The OneOdio OpenRock Pro earbuds are designed to look good, feel nice in your ears, and be easy to use. The packaging is tidy and has everything you need to use immediately — even the separate card explaining how to wear the earbuds correctly.

Performance & Features

The unique shape and fit of the OpenRock Pro earbuds stand out as a unique feature. Yet, the big question is: Do these earbuds give a good listening experience?

To make them even better than similar open-ear headphones, OneOdio used the special TubeBass technology. This audio refinement makes the lower sounds feel more surrounding and deep. Also, the vocals and speaking parts are clear and full in both phone calls and music tracks.

In terms of bass, this creates a more surrounding sound, especially when the volume is turned up. This offers a great listening experience without sound spilling out. It won’t disturb others as much as regular headphones at lower volumes, even at the highest volume.

Speaking of volume, when testing the earbuds on a busy street with lots of background noise, I had to raise the volume to 70-80% to continue listening to music comfortably. However, when I asked a friend to do the same, he complained that the earbuds weren’t loud enough, even at the maximum volume. So, depending on your sensitivity and volume preferences, you may be disappointed with the top volume that the OpenRock Pro can produce.

In a nutshell, the air conduction directs the sound well into your ear. Combined with the open design that balances air pressure, you can enjoy longer listening sessions without discomfort.

Sound Quality

Figuring out how to wear the earbuds and mastering the intuitive controls on each earbud should take little time and effort. You shouldn’t have a problem with the physical buttons, even with larger hands.

Whether in a call or in music, mastering the controls relies on quick, intuitive presses. The OpenRock Pro adds an intelligent touch with timed presses, preventing accidental song skips or call declines. Generally, the buttons are highly responsive, but there might be occasional hiccups where they pause instead of volume control or changing tracks.

After the initial pairing, Bluetooth 5.2 ensures a swift reconnection with your last linked device.

In its default volume range, the OpenRock Pro strikes a nice balance and provides an immersive audio experience while staying attuned to your surroundings. Even at max volume, complete noise isolation isn’t the aim, aligning with the open-ear design philosophy.

Despite the impressive dual noise-canceling microphones, environmental sounds may blend in. The dynamic drivers do great when it comes to sound transmission. However, depending on your environment, you may want to tweak it for the best possible sound quality.

Battery Life

If you’re looking for headphones with long-lasting battery life, the OpenRock Pro offers an impressive 46 hours of playtime on a full charge with its case, making it a tempting choice. However, it’s important to note that the case is relatively large, which could be a trade-off for some people. Plus, the case doesn’t sit flat, potentially making it wobbly on surfaces.

Without the case, you can enjoy up to nineteen hours using headphones, which should suffice for most outings. Remember that battery life may vary based on audio type, volume levels, and operating conditions. If you listen at maximum volume, expect a slightly shorter operating time.

If you ever need to check the battery status, you’ll find a button at the bottom of the charging case. A green light indicates a healthy range of 51% and above, while orange (21-50%) and red (0-20%) lights signal the remaining battery percentages.

Even if the battery is low, a quick charge of 5-10 minutes using the included USB cable provides an additional hour of use.

Should You Buy the OneOdio OpenRock Pro?

If you’re an active person on the lookout for sports earbuds with a long battery life, the OneOdio OpenRock Pro is definitely worth buying. These open-ear earbuds allow you to listen to music and podcasts and take calls comfortably without compromising the sound quality too much.

Even if you’re not looking for a pair of sports earbuds, I recommend getting the OpenRock Pro as a spare set of headphones for long trips and long hours of airport wait. The open-ear design and flexible ear hooks provide a comfortable fit while allowing you to overhear important announcements about your flight.

A portable power station can come in handy, whether you need a spare power source at home or a way of charging your laptop and camera gear while camping in […]]]>
A portable power station can come in handy, whether you need a spare power source at home or a way of charging your laptop and camera gear while camping in the wilderness. Alternatives like generators are too large and difficult to maintain, and power banks can’t supply enough power for all your energy-intensive devices. That’s where portable power stations come in and fulfill all your charging needs.

Power stations use larger and more efficient batteries to store and provide electricity, and they are safe to use both outdoors and indoors. They come in different sizes and have different features, so it can be hard to decide which one to invest in. This article will list some of the best portable power stations on the market today, and discuss why they are a top choice depending on your specific needs.

What to Look for When Purchasing a Portable Power Station?

Nowadays, we prefer power stations in most situations over diesel-powered generators, even though the second ones are cheaper. That’s because generators are noisy, and emit toxic carbon monoxide. Not to mention that generators can be a pain to carry on your camping trip, considering they also need fuel.

Power Stations are more expensive, but they have several benefits over generators. They are eco-friendly (and you use solar power to charge them), safe to use, quiet, and very portable. Their efficiency can vary, depending on the size and capacity of the battery. Some are small and easily portable, but their power output is not that great, while others are large and powerful enough to power an AC unit. That said, they can be useful for short trips out in nature when you need to charge your smartphone, laptop, electric grill, or camera battery.

When choosing the right portable power station to meet your needs, you’ll have to consider its size, capacity, time needed to discharge and recharge, as well as its voltage, available outlets, and charging ports. You should also consider what electronic devices you will power up with your power station and how much energy output those devices need.

Finally, you’ll need to consider your budget. Some basic small power stations cost as little as $500, while the big powerful ones can reach a price of several thousands of dollars. It can be hard to achieve the perfect balance between the cost and features, so carefully assess your needs and choose the best power station for your budget.

1. Ecoflow Delta Pro

Best Overall

Price: $3,199

  • Runs almost all appliances.
  • Multiple recharging options.
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and app.
  • 3.6-25kWh expandable capacity.
  • 3600 Watts output.
  • Weighs 42.5lbs.

Ecoflow Delta Pro is one of the largest and heaviest power stations out there. That’s because it was designed for indoor use, as an emergency power source for homes, camper vans, and RVs. When it comes to power output, it can easily rival generators. It can power almost all house appliances, tools, and heavy-duty devices as it has an output of 3,600 watts. In fact, it can power up multiple appliances simultaneously.

With the built-in X-Boost technology, Ecoflow Delta Pro can bump the electricity output to an incredible 4,500 watts. This allows it to power up a full-size refrigerator for over 51 hours. That alone makes the Ecoflow Delta Pro a perfect solution for power outages. Once the capacity of its battery is down to 0, this power station can be recharged in two and a half hours. However, the recharge time will depend on the power source you are using. Luckily, you have several options as Ecoflow can be plugged into a standard 120-volt home outlet, EV charging stations, solar panels, or a car power outlet.

2. 70mai Power Station Hiker 400

Best small and budget-friendly

Price: $399

  • 8 available ports.
  • Quiet design of only 35dB.
  • Capacity of 378 Wh.
  • 400 Watts output.
  • BLE wireless connection and app.
  • Weight 8.6lbs.

The 70mai Power Station Hiker 400 is a compact but versatile portable electricity solution designed for everyone who wants some comfort while enjoying outdoor adventures. It doesn’t have a large battery capacity, but 378 Wh is more than enough considering this power station is so light and portable weighing only 8.6 lbs. It can supply multiple small appliances and devices with its 8 ports. It has three USB-A ports, a 100W USB-C port, a DC cigarette lighter port, a DC 5521 port, and finally two 400W AC ports.

This is truly a small yet versatile power station. You can power up a heater, toaster, or coffee maker, or charge your smartphone, laptop, or camera while on the go. This power station has a quick charge option from multiple sources. An AC fast-charging brick is included. It’ll charge this power station from 0% to 100% in just under three hours. You can also use the USB-C port, or solar panels for recharging your Hiker 400.

3. Anker 767 PowerHouse

Best for RV use

Price: $1,999

  • Battery Capacity of 2048 Wh.
  • 2400 Watts output.
  • 1000W Solar Output.
  • Durable design.
  • 12 ports
  • Weighs 67 lbs.

The Anker 767 PowerHouse is primarily intended for outdoor use. It has a high battery capacity and you can use it to power up some of your home appliances too, but keep in mind running it into your main breaker would take some advanced installation knowledge. Although an amazing device for all those who prefer a lifestyle in nature, it is rather a heavy device to carry around. That’s why it has wheels and a retractable handle, so you can pull it or push it into place. This power station is certainly not for hiking but for camping. It’s designed to power up your camper van and the appliances in it. It even has a TT-30R RV outlet.

The battery capacity is large (although not the largest on the market), with 2048 Wh. However, if you invest in an expansion, the capacity jumps to 4096Wh and that’s impressive. This device also has an incredible selection of ports, 12 in total, and it can power up several devices and gadgets simultaneously. You can connect your laptop through one of two USB-C ports, or one of four AC ports. There are also three USB-A-type ports for charging smaller devices, 2 carports, and the already mentioned T-30R RV outlet.

Also, check out the Anker 757 PowerHouse as an alternative.

4. Bluetti AC200MAX Portable Power Station

Best power station with solar power generation.

Price: $2,946

  • Battery capacity up to 2048 Wh.
  • 2200 Watts output.
  • 17 ports.
  • LCD touchscreen.
  • 900 Watts solar input.
  • Weighs 61.9lbs.

Bluetti AC200MAX was the first power station to use the LiFePo4 type of battery. That means its life cycle was upgraded from 500-1000 charges to 3500 charges, making this power station a great investment as it will last you around 9 years or possibly more depending on use. With 4,800 Watts in surge mode, it will keep your household appliances running even during harsh winter blackouts since it can power up to 17 devices simultaneously. The station is also Bluetooth enabled which means you can control it with a smartphone app.

The Bluetti Power Station truly shines when paired with solar charging panels. That’s why you can buy it with a solar generator kit and receive 3 PV200 monocrystalline portable solar panels with a maximum of 900 Watts solar input. That makes the Bluetti AC200MAX a great outdoor solar generator. In fact, you can charge this power station with solar panels and through the AC outlet simultaneously, and all that in just 2 hours.

5. 70mai Tera 1000

Best budget-friendly high-capacity power station.

Price: $1,099

  • Battery capacity up to 1000Wh.
  • 1200 Watts output.
  • 10 ports and sockets.
  • BLE smartphone connection.
  • Weighs 27.5lbs.

The 70mai Tera 1000 has a battery capacity of 1000Wh that can power up all small and medium household devices in your home, car, or camper van. Also, it’s one of the smallest and lightest power stations with a high-capacity battery, which makes it perfect for traveling and camping where packing space is tight. But the best part of the 70mai power station is the great balance between its price and the features it brings.

You can control the Tera 1000 Power station with your smartphone through the Bluetooth app, but it also sports a large LCD screen and controls on the power station front side. It even has an integrated flashlight so you can see the controls in total darkness. It has 10 ports, including three AC and DC ports. The AC/DC Pure Sine Wave inverter is built into the power station, so no need to carry a brick with you. A 200W Anderson port allows it to be connected with solar panels for charging outdoors.

6. Jackery Explorer 1000

Best durable power station.

Price: $1,099

  • 1000 Wh capacity.
  • Output of 1000 Watts.
  • Power up 8 devices simultaneously.
  • Shock and fire resistant.
  • BMS, Over Voltage, and short circuit protection.
  • Weighs 22.04lbs.

Jackery Explorer 1000 is one of the most popular portable power stations out there because it’s light and easy to use when camping, and organizing outdoor parties or sports events. Explorer 1000 has similar features to the 70mai Tera 1000, but it’s built to take a heavy beating. This makes it a great choice if you are adventurous and you need a power station that can endure rough handling and the elements.

On the other hand, Explorer 1000 has only eight ports. Although this is more than enough for everyday use, it might not be enough if you want to use this power station as an alternative power source for your home during blackouts and emergencies. It also doesn’t have any app connectivity which means it can be controlled only with the controls on the unit itself.

7. GoalZero Yeti 1500X

Most versatile power station.

Price: $1,799

  • 1500 Wh capacity.
  • 2000 Watts output.
  • Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
  • Built-in cable storage.
  • Weighs 45.6lbs.

The Yeti 1500X can be used as an emergency home power source, or as an off-grid power bank for camping, road trips, or partying outdoors. It’s also great for powering up CPAP machines or even power tools due to its 2000W output and high-capacity battery. It has enough power to supply four refrigerators with electricity for up to three hours.

However, the Yeti 1500X has a long charge time when using the wall outlet, up to 13 hours. But if you have access to a 600-watt power supply, that time can be cut down to only 3 hours. Other charging options are also available, such as car or solar power charging. The best feature of GoalZero Yeti 1500X is its multiple connection options. You can use either Bluetooth or WiFi to control the unit remotely.

From the compact and versatile options suitable for camping trips to the robust and high-capacity units that can power essential appliances during emergencies, there is a power station for every need. Moreover, with the integration of solar panels, fast-charging capabilities, and smart features, these devices have become more user-friendly and eco-conscious than ever before.

Need power during your camping trip, but the standard power bank isn’t enough, and the Anker’s PowerHouse models are too heavy to bring with you? The Bluetti AC60 and B80 may be the perfect option for those looking for something in between.

The AC60 can be a great companion for your next road trip, as well as a source of power for your off-grid campervan lifestyle. It’s compact, splashproof, and also expandable from 400Wh to 1200Wh. And you can turn it into a solar generator by adding one or two foldable solar panels.

Follow our review of the Bluetti AC60 with the expansion battery and a solar panel to see if this is the right choice for your off-grid setup.

The Bluetti AC60 Portable Power Station: First Impressions & Specs

Bluetti is known for its portable solar generators, and after testing several other portable power stations by brands like Anker and Ugreen, I finally got my hands on the AC60 model with the B80 expansion battery and a PV120 volar panel.

A portable power station is now my daily companion and plays a crucial role in my routine. It assists me with cooking and water boiling when camping, keeps all my gadgets charged up, and even serves as a light source at night. However, some of the power stations I reviewed may prove to hold too much power for some needs and simply be too big for carrying around.

This is where the AC60 and B80 enter, with only about 9 kg of weight each, so you can easily carry both of them around or up and down the stairs (which wouldn’t be possible with bigger models that weigh over 30kg).

The AC60 also comes with an IP65 rating, which means it’s splash-proof and dust-proof, so you don’t have to worry about some water reaching your gadget, whether it’s from light rain or from damp grass. The thoughtfully protected and sealed ports ensure their resilience against the elements when not used.

Moving on to the AC60 specifications, the power station has a battery capacity of 403Wh, providing a power output of 600W. However, what sets it apart is its Power Lifting technology, allowing a boost in power output to a remarkable 1,200W. This feature is invaluable when powering high-wattage appliances such as hair dryers, heaters, or BBQ grills.

On paper, the Bluetti AC60 strikes an impressive balance between portability, versatility, and raw power. Whether you’re an avid adventurer thriving in the great outdoors or someone looking for a reliable backup power source for home use, this portable power station delivers on numerous fronts.

Design and Unpacking

If you have previously used a power station before, the Bluetti AC60 will still manage to surprise you. The first thing that you’ll find unusual is how compact and light it is for the amount of power it’s packing. Measuring only 11.3 x 8.5 x 9.7 inches and weighing less than 9 kg, it will fit almost in any space, whether that’s in your house, car, or campervan. Both AC60 and B80 feature a handle that folds over neatly for convenient packing into the trunk of a car.

What’s in the Box

Here’s everything you’ll find when unpacking your Bluetti AC60:

  • Bluetti AC60 portable power station
  • AC charging cable
  • Car charging cable
  • Solar charging cable
  • User manual and warranty card

The AC60 and B80 feature the same signature design and a big Bluetti logo on the front.

On the front side of the station, you’ll find the AC ports and a single power button neatly situated, while all the DC and USB options are grouped together. This includes a 12V car cigarette lighter, 100W USB-C, and two USB-A 15W ports.

While it might not offer an extensive range, considering the 403Wh battery power of the AC60, these options suffice for powering essential electronics on the go. Additionally, a convenient 15W wireless charging pad sits on top, alleviating the need for one of the USB ports.

Moving to the display, it’s simple and straightforward, presenting input and output on the left and right, respectively. The middle section indicates the remaining percentage, accompanied by a few other informative icons.

The Bluetti AC60 and B80 come with another surprise – an IP65 splash-proof rating. This means they’re weather-proof and shielded against light water jets and dust infiltration from any direction, a significant advantage, especially for outdoor use.

During camping, I actually caught some light rain and decided to test the AC60 by leaving it exposed to the drizzle for about half an hour. The experiment was a success, and all I needed to do was wipe the excess water off of the rugged exterior of the station to continue using it.

Another feature I appreciate is the massive LED panel area light on the back. In a portable battery designed for outdoor adventures like camping, this feature is indispensable. Make sure to activate the DC output before turning the light on.

The Bluetti B80 Expansion Battery

Bluetti AC60 inherits an expandable capacity feature seen in its predecessors like AC300 and B300, but with a twist—it’s the first sub-1000Wh Bluetti battery to offer this. You can amplify power by connecting one or two B80 units, adding 806Wh each. One B80 takes the capacity to about 1200Wh, and with two, you’re looking at a whopping 2000Wh.

Remember that the B80 is a battery, not an AC inverter. It offers a degree of independence with a USB-C port, a USB-A port, and a 12V cigarette lighter port. You can charge it separately using AC or solar power.

Size and weight-wise, B80 is similar to AC60, just about 3cm shorter and almost the same weight. Connecting them is easy, but it results in a cable sticking out, which could be an issue if you’re keeping the station in a tight storage space (and it doesn’t look pretty). Ensure you cover the ports and the cable with secure rubber caps for waterproofing when not in use.

Once connected, the remaining percentage adjusts to reflect the expanded capacity. This expandable system has a dual advantage: cost-effectiveness and substantial power up to 2000Wh without compromising portability.

If 600W output isn’t your main concern and you want more capacity, this is perfect for you. In my experience, handling two smaller boxes is easier than one large unit. Plus, you can leave the expansion battery behind if you don’t need it during a trip, adding to the adaptability of your power solution.

The Bluetti PV120 Foldable Solar Panel

With the AC60 and B80, the input power can come from the wall, from 12V, and from solar panels. Both batteries support self-sustained solar charging of up to 200W. Each can accommodate a 12-28V 8A solar panel, fitting well with their highly portable design. While this may not be ideal for larger, stationary solar panels, it’s perfect if you want to use foldable solar panels with them.

I tested the Bluetto PV120 portable solar panel with the 120W nominal input. For the AC60, I could charge it to full in about 4 hours, which is a little longer than I expected. And for the B80, it took about 5 hours to reach 50% with solar charging, at which point we ran out of sun.

While the foldable panel is portable and easy to bring with you, I’d recommend getting at least the PV200 model, which features 200W solar input, if you’re serious about using solar power to charge your AC60.

Performance & Features

We already touched upon what this power station is capable of. The inclusion of multiple output ports and a wireless charging pad makes it a great charging solution for a wide array of devices, from smartphones and laptops to heavier appliances.

While it may not be suitable for extremely power-hungry gadgets, like e-bikes, the AC60 charged my smaller e-scooter — the Unagi Model One — just fine. The AC60 also has a Power Lifting feature which boosts the AC output to allow more power-demanding appliances that draw 1200W to run smoothly. This includes kitchen appliances like kettles or small power tools with motors.

The Power Lifting mode differs from peak load — a momentary power surge when an appliance kicks on. This feature is about consistent performance at higher levels. It’s a smart voltage adjustment that ensures your devices operate at a slightly lower pace or heat but still does the job.

The AC60 has three charging modes: turbo, standard, and silent. These let you choose how fast you want to charge it. Turbo mode zooms at 573 watts, standard cruises at 243 watts, and silent tiptoes at 149 watts. You decide how speedy you want it to be.

This choice is vital when the charging circuit is shared with other gadgets. You can manage the AC60’s power hunger so it doesn’t trip the circuit and upset the other devices.

I normally use the Standard mode, but the Silent mode is perfect for when you remember that your power station is flat right before going to bed and it needs to be ready the next morning. Even if you sleep in the same room that night, the sound of the AC60 charging in Silent mode won’t disturb you.

Software and Connectivity

For more refined control over your power station, you can connect your AC60 to the Bluetti app over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Before using it, you must create an account and add your device to the list.

The app allows you to download new firmware and updates, view detailed stats about your station, turn the station and its various ports on and off, as well as change the charging mode from Standard to Turbo to Silent. You can also turn on the Power Lifting option and LED Light right from the app.

Battery Life

Thanks to BLUETTI’s Turbo Charging tech, the AC60 power station can be fully charged in a mere hour through an AC charger. As you finish prepping for your outdoor journey, the AC60 stands ready and powered up.

Besides rapid wall charging, the AC60 supports other charging options. Whether under the sun, on the road, or with your vehicle, this power station is always ready. Solar, car, and even lead-acid battery charging options ensure the AC60 is constantly charged and at your service.

Charging from zero to full from the AC outlet takes just over an hour, while solar panel charging using the foldable 120W solar panel takes about four hours. Charging the AC60 from the car outlet may take 2.5 to 5 hours, depending on your setup.

The AC60 comes with a 6-year warranty that offers peace of mind. Bluetti also promises around 3000 full charge cycles before the battery is degraded to 80% capacity, which is a pretty impressive lifespan for a portable battery.

Should You Buy the Bluetti AC60 Power Station With an Expansion Battery?

There’s a lot to love about this Bluetti power station: from the rugged design to portability to expandable battery power. With the ability to choose when to add the expansion battery, you can control your power setup. Use it when you need that extra boost, or keep it compact for lighter journeys.

In a nutshell, if you’re seeking enhanced power but still value portability and adaptability, the AC60 with the B80 expansion battery could be your go-to power solution. It’s about having that extra power when you want it, where you want it.

Drones have revolutionized the way we capture aerial views and explore the world from above. The Autel Evo Lite+ is one such drone that promises to take your flying experience to new heights. In this drone review, we’ll dive into the features, performance, and overall experience with this impressive gadget.

While DJI is still the top manufacturer in this sphere and has some of the best drones on the market, an Autel drone can be a decent alternative if you’re looking for some diversity. Thanks to its impressive flight time, high-quality image and video capabilities, and obstacle avoidance sensors, the Autel Evo Lite+ is an excellent drone for beginner drone users as well as enthusiasts with a little more experience.

But is the Autel Evo Lite+ suitable for your needs? Let’s find out.

Autel Evo Lite+: First Impressions & Specs

If you’re looking for a consumer drone, you’ve probably come across the many DJI options, as it’s still the manufacturer that dominates the market. Even our buying guide for the best drones for under $500 reveals this, as the first three options are all DJI drones.

A few years ago, Autel released a few different drones in the Autel Evo (or Autel Robotics Evo) series, all designed to compete with existing DJI models and to offer some alternative for those people looking for something different. The Autel Evo drones include Autel Evo Nano+ (DJI Mini 2 competitor), Autel Evo Lite+ (vs. DJI Air 2S), and Autel Evo II drones which are aimed at more advanced drone operators.

For this review, I’m looking at the Autel Evo Lite+ drone, which challenges the DJI’s Air 2S. My first impression was that the Evo Lite+ is a superior choice in this case, in more areas than one. It offers a longer flight time and distance, allowing you to cover more ground when filming, and has a larger battery capacity and a higher max charging power. The two drones are similar in terms of camera and gimbal stabilization. The only big advantage the Air 2S has here is the size: 21 oz (595 g) over 29.4 oz (835 g).

Before diving into the Autel Evo Lite+ review, here’s the full list of specs of this drone:

  • Dimensions (folded): 8.2 x 4 x 3.3 in (210 x 104 x 85mm)
  • Dimensions (unfolded): 16.9 x 20.3 x 3.3 in (430 x 517 x 85mm)
  • Weight: 29.4 oz (835 g)
  • Max flight time: 40 min
  • Max flight distance: 24 km
  • Max takeoff altitude: 4000m
  • Camera: 20MP, Type 1 (13.2 x 8.8mm), 29mm equiv. F2.8-F11

  • Remote controller battery: 3930mAh battery, 3.5h max battery life
  • Color: classic orange, deep space gray
  • Price: from $1149 on the Autel website (drone + Premium bundle), from $979.99 on Amazon (drone only, and from $1399 on Amazon (drone + Premium bundle).

The Autel Evo Lite+ comes with some impressive features and capabilities. The 20-megapixel CMOS sensor camera and the ability to capture up to 6K/30 video will immediately catch your eye. Aside from the 6K video capture, some features that make this drone stand out are variable aperture, sharp imagery, ability to record voices and ambient sounds while flying, and of course impressive flight time of up to 40 mins.

As long as Autel continues to deliver firmware updates and address any reported lags, the Evo Lite+ has a potential to be the best alternative to the DJI drones for both beginner and professional users.

Design and Unpacking

There are plenty of factors that make the Lite+ a great drone. Let’s start with the things you’ll come across first – the drone’s design and overall build.

Whether you purchase a Standard or Premium bundle, there’s a lot to unpack here. Autel currently has excellent promotion running, so you can get the Lite+ with a premium bundle for the price of a single drone.

What’s in the Box

For the purpose of this review, I received the premium bundle, and it comes with all sorts of essentials. Here’s everything you’ll find in the box while unpacking your Autel Evo Lite+:

  • The Autel Evo Lite+ camera drone
  • Three flight batteries + 1 battery charger
  • 5 propeller pairs (3 in standard bundle)
  • Flight battery charging hub to fit all three batteries (premium bundle)
  • Remote controller + USB-C remote controller charger
  • RC cables (lightning, type-C, micro USB)
  • ND filters (ND4/8/16/32) (premium bundle)
  • Shoulder bag
  • Quick start guide and warranty card

When you first open the box, you’ll find a special carrying bag for the drone and all accessories. While I prefer to travel light and only take the drone and one battery with me, the shoulder bag’s design is very well thought out. The bag has plenty of pockets, some of them are ergonomically shaped to fit the specific parts of the drone, and it makes the drone and all its parts look and feel compact.

The Lite+ features a similar design to DJI drones. The body of the drone and the way the drone wings fold are absolutely the same. The drone weighs 835 g and it’s a substantial difference if you’ve ever had one of the mini drones that sometimes weigh under 300 g. If the compact size is a deal breaker for you, then the Lite+ may not be the right model to purchase. However, one advantage of this drone that I found is that thanks to the bigger body, it’s more wind resistant and is easier to keep in place if the weather is anything but perfect.

One more thing that I liked about the Lite+ straight away is the bright orange color. Unlike typical gray or black drones, this one is actually slightly easier to spot in the sky, as well as on the ground should you ever need to search for it after a crash. The color together with a sleek matte finish are very aesthetically pleasing (although its main purpose is to minimize reflections during flights).

On the front side of the drone, you’ll find a gimbal with a camera. The gimbal has a bit of an awkward cover that I struggled with in the beginning.

But the biggest downside here is how low the gimbal with the camera’s placed on the drone. Every time I take off and land, I worry about the camera getting scratched or accidentally damaged by the obstacles on the ground.

Speaking of accidents, Autel included some extra sets of propellers, and if you’re not a careful/experienced drone pilot, you’ll be thankful for them. I needed to replace the first pair as soon as a week after the first flight.

For steering the drone, you get a remote controller that looks and feels a lot like an Xbox controller. There’s no internal storage or an LED screen which allows you to view crucial flight information. Instead, you’ll need to connect your phone and access the drone during the flight via the Autel Sky app.

Other than that, I found the remote comfortable to hold while operating the drone thanks to its lightweight and ergonomic design.

You can also unscrew the joysticks for easier transportation and then screw them back on to fly the drone.

Performance

When it comes to flight performance, the Autel Evo Lite+ doesn’t disappoint. As a drone enthusiast, I was surprised by how many different flight modes and features this little drone is packing. The flying experience definitely feels premium with this one.

It’d take me a while to talk about every aspect of this drone’s performance, so here’s a summary of the most interesting features and settings you can try on the Evo Lite+.

Flight Modes and Dynamic Track

The Lite+ has a few different flight modes that cater to all skill levels of drone pilots. When you take your drone for the first flight, the Autel app will put you to the Novice mode and restrict the max height and distance that you can fly your drone to. It’s best to stay in this mode while you get acquainted with the controls and with all the features it offers.

When you feel comfortable in the Novice mode, you can try different flight modes from Autel: smooth, standard and ludicrous.

However, one of my favorite features of the Lite+ is the Dynamic Track mode. It allows you to set a subject of the video and the drone will automatically follow its movements while maintaining a safe distance. I found that this feature works best with a single vehicle, a person, and even an animal (as long as it’s not in a crowd).

Using the Dynamic Track, I was able to get amazing footage following my husband on an MTB down the hill, as well as driving in a car across the bridge over a beautiful alpine lake.

If you’re into speed, then you’ll enjoy flying in the Ludicrous mode. The Autel Evo Lite+ boasts an impressive top speed of 42.5 mph (68.4 kmh) that makes it an ideal choice for dynamic shots. And for those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Ludicrous Mode unleashes the drone’s full power, taking your flights to a whole new level of excitement.

At the same time, I recommend scouring the surroundings beforehand for any obstacles that your drone may come across, especially at the top speed. Remember that the Lite+ can stop before an obstacle but it cannot maneuver around it, so you need to be aware of any possible barriers that your drone may come across.

Safety Features

Safety is a priority, and the Autel Evo Lite+ ensures your drone stays within designated boundaries. Unfortunately, there’s no geofencing technology preventing your drone from straying into restricted areas. So you’ll have to do your own research to ensure you’re operating your drone within authorized areas. Checking the FAA B4UFLY site or app is one way to do it, especially for those flying in the US.

When flying internationally, I recommend checking the local regulations to ensure compliance. Additionally, the Lite+ lacks an ADS-B receiver, a feature that alerts pilots to nearby manned aircraft, so that’s also something to be aware of.

The Return to Home feature acts as a failsafe mechanism. It guides your drone back to its takeoff point in case of signal loss or low battery, ensuring a safe and secure landing. And as I mentioned before, once your drone has landed, you’ll be able to easily find it thanks to its bright orange color and the lights on the front and back wings.

Photo & Video Quality

When it comes to capturing stunning imagery and breathtaking videos, the Autel Evo Lite+ doesn’t hold back. This drone offers a range of features that will quickly improve your visual storytelling.

The Autel Evo Lite+ is designed with advanced features that cater to both professional and prosumer fliers. The inclusion of a variable aperture lens adds a layer of control, as you can select desired shutter speeds for video recording yourself. This feature is a boon for those who want to have precise control over their footage, like video professionals or content creators.

With resolution options that include 6K at 30 frames per second and 4K at 60 frames per second, the Autel Evo Lite+ delivers impressive video quality. You can choose the ideal resolution for your specific needs, ensuring sharp and detailed imagery that truly stands out. You can also use the Pro mode to tweak ISO, Shutter and Aperture to get the best possible image quality.

If you’ve purchased the premium bundle, you’ll also get a set of ND filters with your drone. These filters function like sunglasses for your drone’s camera lens. When shooting in bright conditions, you can use them to dim the light that comes into the camera’s sensor to achieve the correct motion blur that human eyes are accustomed to. The brighter it is outside, the higher strength filter you’ll need to choose. From the four ND filters included, the ND32 would be the highest strength one.

Flying a camera drone at night isn’t allowed in many countries. If you’re lucky enough to be in a place where it isn’t illegal, you’ll enjoy filming with the Lite+ in low light conditions and even at night. The drone’s exceptional low light performance allows you to capture stunning shots even when the sun dips below the horizon. You can perform twilight flights and capture unique nighttime scenes with the same clarity and detail.

Software

You can download the AutelSky app for free for iOS and Android. The app is essential for filming your aerial adventures but it’s also like a magic wand that will help you make the most of your Autel Evo Lite+ drone. It’s easy to use and has cool things that help you fly better and make awesome pictures and videos. Let’s see what this app can do.

1. All the Flight Info You Need. The app shows you all the important information while your drone is flying. There’s a little map in the bottom corner so you know where your drone is and which direction it’s facing. On the top corner, you can see how much battery is left and how long your drone can fly. If your drone goes too far from where you started, the app will change colors to tell you to bring it back.

2. Smart GPS and Coming Back Home. The app uses GPS to help your drone know where it is in the world. The drone can also hover in one place without you touching the controls. The convenient return-to-home option is a useful safety feature that automatically tells the Evo Lite+ to go back to its takeoff location in the event of communication loss between the drone and the remote control.

3. Shooting Modes to Elevate Your Creativity. The AutelSky app is not only about flight control – it’s also about creativity. Autel Sky offers four automatic shooting modes that make capturing professional-level shots as simple as pressing a button. These modes include timelapse, panoramic shots, subject tracking, portrait and more. This way you can add artistic touch to your aerial photography and videography.

4. Editing Made Easy. The fun doesn’t stop when your drone lands. You can use the app’s capabilities to make your videos look even better. The app has ready-made video templates and soundtracks to add. You can also use the app to record your own voice or ambient sounds while filming your videos and later add them to the footage.

Battery Life

The Autel Evo Lite+ comes with a powerful 6157mAh battery that keeps your drone running for up to 40 mins at a time. This can be extended by using the 2 spare batteries. If you swap them out and keep flying, it will allow you to continuously fly for up to 2 hours with little interruption.

Recharging one battery takes about 90 minutes. You can do it while you’re having a break or getting ready for your next flight.

However, the most convenient way to charge the batteries is by using the 3-in-1 charger from the premium bundle which allows you to charge all your drone batteries simultaneously.

Should You Buy the Autel Evo Lite+ Drone?

The Autel Evo Lite+ Combo is a great choice if you want a cool drone with lots of features, but you don’t want to spend a ton of money. This combo gives you everything you need in one package – the drone with 6K camera to take professional footage, a compact controller for smooth filming experience, extra batteries for longer shooting sessions, and the app to take your photos and videos to the next level.

The only problem you may face is the drone’s size and weight. However, if you don’t mind carrying a drone that’s a little bigger than other consumer-grade drones, the Autel Avo Lite+ has everything to help you have fun and capture cool moments from high up in the air.
